The BUFFALO BABES are the high school girls division of the Buffalo Chips Running Club / Youth Chips. Each year many of the best distance runners in the Sac-Joaquin Section (and Northern California) are invited to join the Buffalo Babes. The Buffalo Babes travel around the country and run as teams at the National Junior Olympics in December and the USA Cross Country Championships in February. In addition, the Buffalo Babes have social functions and volunteer at area events.

Sat Jan. 2 - Trail Run - 9 am Bicycles Plus Folsom   - Alissa, Kelsey, Megan, Shelby, and April and alumni Lauren Jimison! - Lauren was 9th this year at NAIA XC Nationals and helped Azusa Pacific last year to the NAIA national team title.  She was on the winning Buffalo Babes YW team in Virginia Beach her senior year in 2007 where she was 4th in that race.  She was a 2-time Division 5 section champion for Capital Christian.  We also ran into Alex Kosinski at the end of the workout.

2009 JUNIOR OLYMPICS - RENO, NV
Another EPIC weekend.  USATF sure can pick the locations... and the weekends, can't they?  What's next? Alaska? 
   Despite the snow, wind, cold. (insert your disaster here), the Buffalo Babes braved an early blast of winter and just like
   Cat in the Hat II, turned the snow around the finish line into a sea of pink in the Young Women's race.
Congrats to Team Idaho who had both individual winners, were 1st in the Intermediate Girls, and 2nd in the Young Women. 
   Maybe we have a new west coast rival.  Hope we see them again.  Really hope we see them again.
Kelsey Smith was the #1 Young Woman, Emma Freeman was the #1 Intermediate Girl, Claire Miller was the #1 Youth Girl.
Buffalo Babes Young Women win the National Team Title in the Young Women's age group.
Intermediate Girls were 2nd.  Babes also take 4th and 4th in the IG and YW and 8th in the Youth Girls.

Beyond our wildest dreams.....Karlie! Theresa! Jacque! all make Foot Locker FINALS.
Of the 10 West girls, 7 were from California, 4 were from NorCal, and 3 wore the Babes' HOT PINK! 
Karlie 3rd, 18:02, Theresa 4th, 18:05, Jacque 10th, 18:29
Karlie's 18:02 is the 2nd fastest freshman FLW time since FLW has been at Mt. SAC (#1 Hasay)
They'll spend next weekend in San Diego at the most elite Nationals of all... Foot Locker!
Congratulations to Karlie Garcia and Coach Ryan Nugent, Theresa Devine, and Jacque Taylor and Coach Carl Triola. 
Also big thanks to Jacque Taylor's club coach Bob Shor who has let us 'borrow' Jacque the last 2 years.
Brooke was Top 30, Kelsey was Top 50, Becky and Katie were Top 60.  Tiffany was Top 90.
Shayna was 11th in the Frosh/Soph race and she makes 2nd Team All-West Region!!
It was a somewhat serious meet, but the girls had fun and enjoyed previewing the course and warming up together and we had a very enjoyable team dinner at Johnny Carino's.  Same hotel and restaurant next year!   Why change anythng??
