Rusty graduated from Lufkin High School and Attended Angelina College. After a couple of years at AC Rusty headed for Westylan University in Fort Worth, Texas. While at Westylan Rusty's Pitching abilities caught the eye of the Major League Padres Organization. Rusty went on to Pitch 6 years for the Pardes.
