The Inaugural BHS Alumni Game Deemed A Success

The first BHS alumni game was greeted with great weather and based on the fun and future potential all agreed the day was very successful. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. Planning for next year's event has already begun and hopefully it will become a fixture for BHS every spring.

 UPDATE

What a great night for Buchholz Baseball last night! Plenty of food and fellowship for all! Just a few updates and recaps.
1. All players were given a field sign renewal envelope last night. For the ones that are being passed down from Seniors, if you could contact them by the end of next week, that would be great. If they aren't going to renew, please let Elizabeth Byrd know- her email is tecbyrd@yahoo.com We want to try to get as many of the field signs hung on Feb. 11th as possible.
2. Please get the volunteer, permission, and driver forms filled out and return the folder to Coach Brooks (as soon as possible. Players can't travel to away games without at least the permission slip.
3. As a recap of the treasurer's report last night, at this point, you should either have real solid leads on signs, or have at least half of your son's team fees paid. We are at the time of year when many of our larger bills have to be paid (example- uniforms, practice attire, hats, etc.) so it is crucial that we get these funds in as soon as possible. If you ever have a question about your son's account, credits, etc., please see Jeff Herman.
Have a great weekend! Should be a great day for baseball on Saturday!

Attached is a copy of the "Field Sign Order Form".
This year, we will have an additional option for signs as well as our regular outfield signs. We will have the option of metal signs that will be hung on the concrete block wall leading up to the field. These signs are smaller, yet are "up close and personal." They are also a less expensive option so that might be more appealing to some business owners. These signs will sell for $200 for a 2 x 3 and $100 for a 1 x 2. For the first year, player will receive $140 credit for the larger sign and $64 for the smaller. Due to the price break that we are receiving on the metal signs, we have to have them made in bulk. This means that we will have to have a deadline for these sign sales. Metal Sign orders must be placed no later than Wednesday, February 1st. The outfield vinyl signs don't have a deadline, however, I would think that the businesses would want them up sooner rather than later.
The outfield signs will work the same way as in the past. We will continue to sell and renew those signs and will have signs from graduating seniors that will be given to players to try and renew. That information will be out soon. For the outfield signs, players receive $250 credit for the 4 x 10 signs and $150 credit for 4 x 6 signs. If you secure a renewal for a sign that needs to be replaced, we will have to have a new sign made so the player credit would be less this year to cover the printing cost.
Remember that field signs are a great way to cover some or all of your player's fair share amount:)
Elizabeth Byrd has graciously volunteered to take over as our Field Signs Chairperson. Thanks Elizabeth:)
Let us know if you have questions.
