Barnstable Wins 10-2, Barnstble wins 10-7
The Barnstable Americans Lost there first Game of the Tournament to Pittsfield South 10-2. The hometeam got up early with a 5 run first inning and never looked back. Barnstable's 2 runs came on an RBI double by Mac Curran, Terrence Mudie, James Burke and Alec Morrison also chipped in with one hit each. James Burke made a spectacular catch in right field. The boys now face Peabody West in the elimination round @ 4:30pm in Pittsfield.
The Barnstbale Americans defeated Braintree Americans 7-0 to win the sectional title. Damon Blake was outstanding with 5 innings of shut out pitching. Alec Morrison drove a homerun over the right field fence and Danny Walsh had a couple Hits and came in to preserve the victory on the mound. They are now off to Pittsfield to play in the State Tournament.
The Boys came back from a 6-3 deficit to defeat Auburn 10-7 in a rollercoaster ride type of game. The entire team chipped away with a 7 run 5th inning to take the lead for good. They are now waiting for the results of todays game in Middleboro to see who they face in the sectionals final in Braintree.
The boys of Barnstable Tom Wallace Americans began there quest for the Sectional title with a bang on Friday July 20th against Braintree defeating the home team 10-2 in Braintree.
Terrence Mudie provided an excellent pitching performance holding Braintree to 2 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings pitched. Danny Walsh came in and threw strikes to close out the win. Charile Rice jumpstarted the offense with a 2 run homerun in the fisrt inning. Will Toffey went 4-4 and was solid behind the plate. Lenny Leone came off the bench to go 2-2. The defense was superb as it has been throughout the tournament. The boys now travel to Shrewsbury on 7/21 to take on Auburn at 5:30pm.
