Summer Rugby 2010: early June through early August
Summer rugby is a fast paced team sport. Players transition from attack to defense continually. Our successes are achieved as a team rather than a collection of individuals. We offer non-contact co-ed two-hand touch. For players over 11, we offer age grade tackle. We meet Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting on 1 June 2010. When matches start in the middle of June, we will play twice a week.

Winter Workouts
Winter is a great time to build strength and fitness for all players. At a minimum, give me 5 minutes a night while watching TV!

Most teams start training in the winter for the spring season. Notes from each of the local high clubs will be posted as available.
New Age Ranges for 2010
Rugby VA will align all backets to the age of player as of 1 January 2010. Example: Player born 6 June 1995 is 14 and will play U15s

All youth rugby under 11 years old is coed touch. Older players have the option of playing either tackle or touch. For the 2010 season, we anticipate fielding:

About our lead coaches
Both lead coaches have over twenty years of playing experience. Coaching Certifications include: USARFU Level 1: Introducing Rugby, Level 2: Developing Rugby Skills, and NZRFU Level 1. They have coached youth and adults teams. Jack (Coach Jack) Hagan has represented the DC area in 7 and 15 a side teams playing in the backs. Steve (Izzy) Israel represented Texas for both 7s and 15s playing in the forwards and both played and coached overseas.
