BRLL & MD DISTRICT 2 NEWS

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM BRUNSWICK RAILROADERS LITTLE LEAGUE

Last year we revived the Girls fast pitch softball program with one 9-12 year old team in the Major division. Being the only league in District 2 with Girls softball at that time, we played a schedule against opponents from District 1 (Washington County), mainly Sharpsburg Little League.

This year two more Little Leagues in District 2 are offering Girls softball, Frederick National (boundaries include Frederick American & East Frederick) & Four County. Those two leagues, along with Brunswick, will be offering a Minor Division (7-11), Major Division (9-12) and Juniors Division (13-14). Little League is a low cost alternative and/ or complement to the many travel programs available to girls. Brunswick’s boundaries have been expanded to include the boundaries of Mountain Valley Little League (Middletown, Myersville & Wolfsville).

Our goal is to provide the same positive little league experience for girls in our community playing softball that our baseball program has provided for all these many years. It is in Little League that players learn the fundamentals necessary to prepare them for the upper levels of play. BRLL

has been a successful feeder program to the higher levels of baseball. You need look no further than our own

Brunswick High School State Baseball champions that contained ten players from the BRLL 2010 MD State 11/12 Championship team. Like that team that advanced to the Little League Regional tournament   and had an opportunity to advance to the Little League World Series, our girls will have the same opportunities to qualify to play in District, State, Regional and World Series play. They will begin to learn the fundamentals of the game of softball and begin the process of becoming the feeder program for high school and college programs. BRLL is dedicated to developing superior players and better citizens for a stronger community through the great sports of baseball and softball.

Please take a moment to complete this survey if you have interest in being a part of this new program. We are very excited about the {base} path that lies ahead of us as we launch the next phase of Brunswick Railroaders Little league Girls Softball!

GIRLS SOFTBALL EXPANDING IN DISTRICT 2

Two new leagues have chartered with Little League International in Maryland 5District 2. Frederick National and Four County Little League will begin play in 2016. Frederick National's bondaries will include the boundaries of Frederick American and East Frederick.

Maryland District 2 Girls Softball plans on offering Minors, Majors, Juniors and Senoir Division play.

District 2 leagues are Brunswick, East Frederick, Four County, Frederick American, Frederick National, Montgomery County, Mountain Valley, Thurmont & Challenger.

ROLE OF A PARENT

Parents play an integral part of the success BRLL has each season. BRLL is not a club in which membership implies baby-sitting benefits and entertainment privileges. As stated in the Little League Official Playing Rulebook, "Little League is an adult, volunteer work project constructed, supervised and assisted by parents who want to extend this benefit to their children. The parent who shirks this responsibility cannot, in turn, expect others to assume the burden."

Our league survives on countless hours of volunteer work. As indicated in each level of play, a successful season takes MANY VOLUNTEERS. Please take the time to invest in our league as we take the time to invest in the development of your son/daughter as a baseball/softball player.

BECOME A SPONSOR

Sponsorships are a critical part of the overall financial support necessary for a successful season for Brunswick Railroaders Little League. When you sponsor a team, your sponsorship dollars help fund the cost of uniforms, equipment, insurance, umpires, lighting, trophies and awards. Traditionally we have been able to maintain the lowest registration fees in the community and District 2, and with your sponsorship, we can once again pass along the savings to BRLL players. By sponsoring a team, your business will also gain visibility with, and support, from the families and friends of Brunswick Railroaders Little League. Please don't pass up this opportunity to support the community while promoting your business.

If you are interested in sponsoring a team, advertising on our web site, or just donating to Brunswick Railroaders Little League, go to League Forms and Documents and download the 2016 sponsor form.

BRLL RESIDENCY

Before you can enroll your player in Brunswick Railroaders Little League, you need to check the most current boundary map to see if you live within our league boundaries. Contact our player agent Amy Dinges at dingesfamily5@comcast.net with with any questions.

 MORE RESIDENCY, IMPORTANT PLEASE READ...

In an effort to accomodate for Little Leaguers to play with their classmates, and ease the burden on parents and guardians,  Little League has amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located. To verify enrollment, parents will need to provide an official school document, such as a report card or school enrollment form, confirming enrollment in the school for the current academic year, dated before October 1, 2014.
