NEW RULES FOR LITTLE LEAGUE BATS FOR 2018
Little League and BRSLL has adopted the "USABat" standard for 2018. Starting January 1, 2018, only bats with the new "USA Baseball" logo will be eligible for use.
For Tee Ball: Under the USABat standard, certified Tee Ball bats (26” and shorter) will feature the USA Baseball mark and text which reads ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS. All Tee Ball bats must feature the USA Baseball mark and accompanying text. Tee Ball bats that were produced and/or purchased prior to the implementation of the new standard can still be used for the 2018 season.

In Loving Memory - Coach Patrick Duffy
Everyone at BRSLL is sadden by the loss of our great friend Patrick Duffy. All the kids he coached with such love will carry those lessons forward as they grow into young men and women - just a small part of the legacy Patrick leaves behind. For anyone who wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to "Duffy Educational Fund c/o Donna Lee, 62 Edgewood Place, Belmont, CA 94002" or to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research in Patrick's name at https://lustgarten.org. We are so grateful to have Patrick, Charisse, Tim, Thaddeus and Gregory as part of our Belmont-Redwood Shores community.
2018 BRSLL Umpire Candidates
BRSLL is looking for both youth and adult umpires of all levels for the 2018 season. Umpiring little league is a great chance to serve your community while also earning a few dollars. For those interested, BRSLL is hosting an umpiring clinic on February 10th, 9am - 12pm at the Belmont Sports Complex, 550 Island Parkway, Belmont. An alternate training clinic for BRSLL will be hosted on a date TBD. In addition, District 39 is offering a free umpire clinic to be held at Rolling Hills Middle School, 1585 More Road, Los Gatos, CA, on February 17th (8am - 5pm) and February 18th (8:30am - 3pm); a complimentary lunch is provided each day of the District 39 clinic.
Youth Umpires: BRSLL seeks candidates for Majors and AAA games; candidates must be at least 13 years old. Umpires will be selected based on availability, baseball / softball knowledge, maturity and experience. Umpires are required to attend training sessions. Umpires are expected to work one game per weekend, and may elect to work 3-4 games per week. Umpires are paid, or may elect to receive community service hours in lieu of being paid. BRSLL graduates are preferred but past BRSLL participation is not required. Openings are limited and not all applicants will be selected.
Adult Umpires: Adult umpires are some of the most important members of our program and help to ensure that our children enjoy their baseball experience. Umpiring is an excellent way to serve your community and help our youth sports program. Umpire training, equipment and uniforms will be provided by the league.
If you would like to become an umpire, or have friends who might be interested, please email the chief umpire at UmpireBRSLL@gmail.com with any questions and your interest. Thank you and we look forward to a great season.
