Brownstown Little League: Coaches Corner
"Great coaching is no accident. It starts with a love for the game. It grows from a strong desire to give children the tools they need to succeed on the field and in life."
Brownstown Little League teams are managed and coached by volunteers, typically parents of players. Every team needs one manager and at least 2 assistant coaches. Propsective managers and coaches are asked at player registration to sign up on volunteer forms or make a note on their player's registrration form that they have an interest in coaching for the upcoming season. Coaches do not have to have a player in the league to be eligible.
The Board of Directors will review all of the applicants and notify managers/coaches of their selection. All Managers, Coaches and volunteers will be required to fill out a volunteer application and provide their drivers license info. Any volunteer who has contact with children will be required to fill out the volunteer application. It is the Manager's responsibility to have any volunteer on his/her team fill out the volunteer form, should they join later in the season.
Managers and coaches must provide a positive role model for all players. Manager and coaches are required to attend league sponsored trainings, and an annual coaches meeting which will provide information on the upcoming season. Please read and become familiar with the league's local rules for you division, National Little League Rules, parent code of conduct, and safety rules.
Thank you for your interest in Coaching in Brownstown!!!

Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is a nonprofit organization founded at Stanford University with the mission to transform youth sports so sports can transform youth. PCA was created to transform the culture of youth sports to give all young athletes the opportunity for a positive, character-building experience.
We have three national goals:
- Replace the "win-at-all-cost" model of coaching with the Double-Goal Coach®, who wants to win but has a second, more important, goal of using sports to teach life lessons;
- Teach youth sports organization leaders how to create an organizational culture in which Honoring the Game is the norm; and
- Spark and fuel a "social epidemic" of Positive Coaching that will sweep this country.
There are many people in this nation who want to change the culture of youth sports, but they do not feel equipped to do so. Positive Coaching Alliance has developed practical tools to change the culture of youth sports and is making them available to coaches, parents, league organizers and others who will fire this movement.
