Broomfield Youth Football - Where Every Game is a Home Game: BYFA Safety
Football SafetyBYFA places the utmost importance on player and participant safety. BYFA has set maximum weight limits in all leagues and maximum weight limits to carry the ball. All participants are weighed and measured by BYFA. Ages are verified from birth certificates by BYFA. All players must be properly equipped and pass a physical done by a licensed physician. However, injuries do occur in youth football, just like other physically demanding youth sports. We instruct the officials to error on the side of safety regarding participant conduct. Unsafe techniques are not tolerated by BYFA. For the safety of the players and fans, we establish a parent line 4-5 yards back from the sideline on each field. We ask your cooperation in honoring this line and staying behind it. Please do not sit or stand in this area. Also, please keep coolers, bicycles, lawn chairs, small children, pets, video cameras, and any other objects out of this safety zone. BYFA employs a trainer at each set of fields. Typically the trainer stands between the two fields and simultaneously watches two games at once. The trainers also have the authority to determine whether a child may continue or re-enter a game after an injury. No coach or parent should attempt to alter the trainers decision with regard to continued participation by a child who has or was injured.
Your child should be covered by a group or personal comprehensive major medical insurance policy. DO NOT ASSUME THAT BYFA INSURANCE WILL COVER ANY PART OF MEDICAL EXPENSES IN THE EVENT OF INJURY. In the event of injury you will likely incur significant expenses not covered by insurance. Your participation in BYFA is entirely voluntary and by registering your child to participate, you understand the risks involved.
