Hey players and parents, don't forget about our skills assessment this Saturday, April 6th at both rinks.
9AM - 11AM Howard Park Rink in Lee's Summit
1PM -3PM Holmes Park Rink at 70th & Holmes
We will have jersey examples this weekend to try on for sizes, and some examples of inline pants we can get from our supplier (www.rcsports.com
) for a discounted price to you if you are buying anything new. They carry everything you need for inline hockey right down to the skates, and the league even has some helmets, sticks, and gloves to loan out if you are missing something. Just speak up this weekend and let us know.
Remember that registration sheets will be due at this time and the $ 125.00 entry fee. Also keep in mind that if you recruit a new player, you can get a referral discount and only pay $ 100.00. All fees will be made out to "Brookside Roller Hockey" for this coming season. We will have blank registration sheets to fill out if you have lost the link or haven't done one yet. Looking forward to meeting you all this weekend.
Easter Weekend Adult Pick-Up Game THIS SATURDAY, March 30th, 2013 (Howard Park, Lees Summit--11AM)
The Puck Club sponsors and puts together games on a weekly basis at both rinks. These are various ages, and skill levels playing pick up in a competitive and laid back atmosphere. This is a great way for any of the parents and high school / college to try inline hockey if you haven't, but also a pretty good organized game for anyone looking for a little competition as well. Hope to see someone new out there with us this weekend. --JP
Hey Players and Parents, we will be going to look at uniforms next week. We would like to have some examples to show and try on for you at the skills assessment next Saturday. I know that some of you are still holding registration, but could you please email your Son/Daughters name, age, and whether they will need Youth Small, Medium, Large, or XL uniform. Please send them to our email at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as you are able. Thanks.
Ken, Pat, and Joshua
Spring Season Is Just Around The Corner
Sun is out and the snow is melting...and we are dreaming it continues to rise in temps allowing us back on the rinks.
Registration will close at skills assessment next weekend, but you don't have to wait till then to turn in your registration sheets. Please fill them out the best you can, and send them to our email at email@example.com. We will handle filling out the rest for you.
Skills Assessment is set for next weekend, Saturday, April 6th 2013 in two sessions. You can choose to be assessed at either rink of your choice. Howard Park in Lee's Summit will hold skills assessment from 9AM - 11AM that morning OR the Brookside rink from 1PM - 3PM.
We will collect all registration sheets and fees at the time of skills assessment. We will provide extra copies on site if you want to fill it out there. These are all REQUIRED for all registrants to participate in USA Roller Sports. We are still awaiting the State of Missouri on approval of our name. We cannot open accounts until then, so we will use the existing Brookside account. PLEASE MAKE A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER OUT TO "BROOKSIDE ROLLER HOCKEY" IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 125.00 (or $ 100.00 if referring someone new).
The coaches will have a meeting on Sunday after skills assessment and place players on their respective teams. If you are interested in coaching or helping, and I haven't already spoken with you, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. to discuss.
NO EQUIPMENT, but want to TRY INLINE...Let us help. We have some equipment available to loan out to teams (helmets, sticks, some goalie equipment). So if your kids know someone interested in playing with us this Spring, let them know. What we don't have, our uniform provider (RC Sports) can outfit you and provide decent costs. Just let us know what you are looking for.
We are happy to introduce to you the
Innaugural Spring Youth Outdoor Season of the NEW! Kansas City Inline
Register Your Child Today For This New Co-ed
League! Spring Is Right Around The Corner, Come Get Outside With
This new league is an expansion of what used to be the Lee's Summit Parks
and Recreaction Inline Program and the Brookside Inline Hockey Program. Some of
you may or may not know, but the Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation dropped the
youth program out at Howard Park. The concerned coaches and fathers from that
league approached us about merging the two programs. Several months later, and
hard work by all, we are forming a bigger and better outdoor program.
We will happily be apart of USA Roller
Sports and be insured and governed by their body of rules. Pat Hankins (Lee's
Summit) and myself are the two officers for the membership. You can find USARS
online if you would like to at www.teamusa.org/USA-Roller-Sports.aspx
. You can find the
registration sheet online and auto fill your information. Please do so as soon
as you can. Once you have filled in everything that you can (we will handle the
rest), please print out and sign. Once you have signed the registration sheet,
scan and email us back at email@example.com
We will turn them into the league since we are a brand new membership. You can
find the registration sheet at the link below. By the way, we will not need
your credit card information.
We will use both the Howard Park Rink in
Lee's Summit and the Brookside Rink at 70th & Holmes for practices and
games. These parks will be used publicly, so practices will be negotiable
depending upon use of the rinks. The good news is that they are typically used
the most for inline hockey. Practices will be an open format and any player
from any team can choose to practice at either park depending upon where they
live, and their scheduling conflicts. This will make it easier for players who
live on the Eastern side to choose Howard and those people in Kansas and in the
city to choose the 70th and Holmes rink.
Fees will be the same as what the
Brookside Program has done. All Fees Will Be Collected At Skills
Assessment. We are still budgeting on what we will need, so we can
tell you that they will be $ 125. This fee will include your individual
membership registration into USA Roller Sports and the minimum insurance
required. It will also include a jersey that you can keep after the season if
Some equipment will be loaned out on a first come first serve basis, and we
must take inventory on what we have. If you know someone who would like to
play, but doesn't have all the equipment, let us know in your return email. We
will see what we can do. Equipment required to participate will be skates,
hockey stick, helmet, shin guards, and hockey gloves. Girdle padding, chest
protector, and hockey pants are optional.
Just like Lee's Summit, we will have 3 age divisions available for
registration Under 10yrs, Under 14 yrs, & High
School. Please provide which division you are registering for in your
return email as well.
