The Intros played a hard fought game on Saturday, November 18th vs the Bayside Raiders. The game saw a lot of exciting plays from both teams. However WR Curtis Smith stole the show when he went from receiver to defender and stripped the ball from the Bayside DB, who made an interception, and scooped up the ball and ran 35 yds for a TD.

The Skyhawk defense played hard vs the Raiders in the closing minutes and thwarted any chance for a comback.

Final score SKYHAWK Intros 14 - Baysdie Raiders 12

This marks the first time in nearly 12 years that the Skyhawks have multiple Championship teams in the same year

Congratulations to the SKYHAWK Jr. Pee Wees - 2007 New York City Youth Football League UNDEFEATED Jr. Pee Wee Division CHAMPIONS.

The Jr. Pee Wees faced their last obstacle to an undefeated season when they took on the Kings Bay Bengals at Hofstra University (Uniondale, NY) on Sun. 12/9 for the Division Championship.

The Jr. Pee Wees were able to continue their dominance with a display of a potent offense and sound defense play. The Skyhawks controlled the tempo of the game throughout. The #1 ranked defense continue to smother Kings Bay with a relentless effort and a will to win. The offense continued to click on all cylinders and was able to keep the game out of reach.

This win marks the 1st time that a Skyhawk Jr. Pee Wee team has completed an undefeated season.

Congratulations to both Kings Bay and the SKYHAWK Pee Wees for a superb effort.

Congratulations to the SKYHAWK Pee Wees - 2007 New York City Youth Football League Pee Wee Division CHAMPIONS.

The Pee Wees faced their toughest challenge of the season when they took on the previously undefeated Kings Bay Cougars at Hofstra University (Uniondale, NY.) on Sun. 12/9 for the Championship.

After being tied 14-14 with under 2 minutes to play, the Pee Wees needed someone to step up and take over the game. The Skyhawks called timeout and spoke to the defensive players asking them to “let it all out” and stop Kings Bay from scoring. The defense stiffened up and then it happened.

As the Kings Bay runner attempted to get to the outside on a sweep, several Skyhawk defenders hit him and Skyhawk Na Vonte Moses (#1) ripped the ball from the grasp of the Kings Bay RB and ran 78 yards for the deciding touchdown. Final score Skyhawks 22 – Kings Bay 14.

This win was a team effort because others players on offense were asked to “step up” in the biggest game of the year. Starting QB Cordell Ross, Jr. (#10) was injured early in the game and his replacement LeKeith Celestain (#2) needed to step in and keep the offense moving and the team spirits up. Na Vonte Moses also had a good day on offense by scoring two more TD’s on runs greater than 40 yards each.

All the scoring was possible due to the determination of the offensive line and backs to provide maximum pass/run protection when needed. The defense line and linebackers set the tone in the trenches and the defensive backs did a great job in shutting down the passing game.

Congratulations to both Kings Bay and the SKYHAWK Pee Wees for a superb effort.

Special Congratulations to Coach Garvin, his staff and players for their hard work throughout the season.

The Intros played a hard fought defensive game on Saturday, December 6th vs the Lynvet Cardinals at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale (LI), NY. The game saw  some exciting plays but mostly a defensive struggle throughout the match.

With the Lynvets leading 12-8, the Skyhawk defense played tough on the last Lynvet series in the 4th quarter and gave the ball to the offense on the Skyhawk 30 yd. line with only 18 seconds left in the game. After an incomplete pass on 1st down and with only 4 secs. left, Skyhawk QB launched a rocket pass deep into the Lynvet seconadry. Both the Skyhawk WR and Lynvet defender tipped the ball in the air and Skyhawk fullback Anthony Sorrentino caught the tipped pass and raced the remaining 20 yards for the deciding touchdown.

Anthony Sorrentino had continued on his pass route and simply ran to the area where the ball was thrown. His hustle on the play enabled the Skyhawks to score and win the game.

Final score SKYHAWK Intros 14 - Lynvet Cardinals 12
