Bronco Cheerleaders Compete In 2003 Nationals
 | | | It's great to be at the Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida | |
After competing in the MSYFL Cheer Competition, it was time to take the show on the road. Our Elite cheer squad traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida over the Thanksgiving holidays to compete in the 2003 National Cheer Competition. Cheer squads from all over the USA were there. Just from watching the rehersals and practices of some of the other squads, it was apparent that this competition featured some of the best squads in the country.
The stress and tension at the Nationals was immense. The noise in the auditorium was deafing. Thousands of people were there, cheering, yelling and screaming for their favorite squad. You could field the pressure it was so intense.
Coach Delores told us the she and the girls all went outside and "had a good cry" then they put on their game faces and came back inside. When it was our squad's time to compete, they performed their best routine ever. They knew they were ready. Unfortunately, they failed to place in the competion. Coach Delores repeated the words of a famous general when he left the Phillipines during WWII. "We shall return".
It's been a great year for our cheer program and we are looking forward to bigger and better things next season.
Check our "Bronco photos" section for photographs from the season.
Bronco Cheerleaders 4th At Mid-State Cheer Competition
 | | | | A Bronco cheer squad performing a stunt in the Mid-State competition |
The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife at the Mid-State Cheer competition held at David Lipcomb University on November 22, 2003. All of the leagues best cheer squads were there. This was our cheer organization's first trip to the competition and some of our girls were overwhelmed by the intensity of the competition at first glance. However they knew what they had to do. They took a minute to compose themselves then were ready to give it all they had.
Our girls were competing against some of the best recreational cheer squads in the state and they did a great job.
When any of our squads took the floor our cheer parents and fans went into a frenzy of support for our kids. Our football coaches were there also yelling for our girls showing them they appreciated all the work the cheerleaders had performed on there sidelines. All our squads did great from our Pee Wee Bronco cheerleaders to our Elite Squad.
When the awards were announced, our cheer organization placed 4th overall. It was a great finish because all of our girls were rookies having never competed in a cheer competition before. We want to commend Coach Delores Darden, our Director of Cheer Operations, and her staff for a great job.
