It is a very unusual situation to have lightning issues affect our games, it that is the case today (Sept. 12). AYSO is clear about their position. Our children's safety must be our number one priority. Due to the unpredicatiblity of lightning, a game may need to be cancelled during the game. Contact your coach if you are unsure if the game will be played or not. If all games are cancelled, it will be posted on this website.

 The following is the position of the AYSO National Referee Commission regarding severe weather:

“It is said that lightning can strike from a clear blue sky that is within a ten mile radius of a storm. It is therefore strongly recommended that practices and games be terminated immediately upon hearing thunder or seeing lightning”.
