Brigantine Beach Volleyball Association: Welcome

Home of the Brigantine Beach Volleyball Association (BBVA), a non-profit organization located on Brigantine Island in Southern New Jersey, and run by a Board of Directors.  BBVA provides volleyball for players of all ages and skill levels.  Known for the Greenhead Open and Steve Hopp Memorial Volleyball Tournaments.  BBVA is sanction by Volley America, the membership-based grassroots program for tournaments and recreational leagues (www.VolleyAmerica.com).  All players are required to have a membership number.

The members meet year round playing both indoor and on the beach.  All beach tournaments are held at the 38th Street beach where BBVA maintains 8 beach volleyball courts.  BBVA is a Great American Volleyball (GAV) affiliate, so come join the fun.

Steve Hopp Memorial Scholarship:  Steve Hopp was a resident of Brigantine and dedicated much of his life to promoting the sport of volleyball.  He was an active leader who stood up to maintain the BBVA alive.  His involvement in the BBVA included fundraisers to provide a venue for the community to play and help promote the sport.  He passed away much too early in his life at the age of 39 on a volleyball court.

In his memory, the BBVA created the Steve Hopp Memorial Scholarship Fund to address the need of volleyball programs in Atlantic County, so that his affinity for the sport could be remembered for years.  The scholarship provides selected Atlantic County high school senior volleyball athletes with a cash scholarship, and also sponsors high school non-senior volleyball athletes for local volleyball camps to better develop their skills.  To request additional information email us at: bbva.scholarship@hotmail.com

Come down to the 38th Street beach in beautiful Brigantine for The Brigantine Beach Festival of the Winds!!

BBVA will be hosting a 1-day tournament for experienced and novice players.  Download the flyer for details and pre-register via email to secure your team's spot.  If you are a BBVA member your tournament registration fee will be waived in exchanged for 1 hour of your time to volunteer in the setup/break down, etc. during the event.

Summer is around the corner (finally) and BBVA is getting ready to welcome all players for the 2012 season of Thursday Nights!!  Open play (pick-ups), 6s, 4s, and/or 2s format. Thursday, May 17th will be the season opener starting @ 6:00pm until dusk.

BBVA annual membership is $30 (save $5 if you register before Memorial Day) and you must sign a player's waiver.

Signing up with Volley America is required along with your BBVA membership.  Also save $5 if you sign up online at: www.volleyamerica.com ($15).  If you decide to do on-site through BBVA, it will be $20.
