Great coaching staff at Brick City Volleyball!



Head Coach Bill Carter - He has spent the last 12 years directing Brick City Volleyball Club as well as coaching individual teams. Carter coached the Brick City 18 National team to a Carolina Region American Bid and competed in the 2006 USAV Junior Nationals. In 2007, Carter was a training court coach for the Piedmont Mizuno 17's who were ranked nationally and qualified for USAV JO Nationals. Coach Carter is beginning his 6th year at the helm of the Cougar Volleyball program in the Tar-heel Conference of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III in Region 10. Carter has been a Head Court coach for UNC Volleyball Camps since 2006 while working team camps and the UNC High Potential Camp for elite players. He also coached in the NC High Performance program with the Carolina Region for 5 years and coached the Carolina Youth team (White) to a match victory at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale. Carter is also certified at level II with USA Volleyball in their Coaching Accreditation Program(CAP).

Coach Dal Langston - Coach Dal is entering his 8th year of coaching with Brick City Volleyball Club. He started his athletic career in the pool. Dal started swimming at a young age qualifying for the AAU state meet for 4 years in the 13,14,15 and 16 age groups. His volleyball career began, playing for adult volleyball leagues for several years before starting to coach. Coach Dal received his CAP I certification in 2009 and his CAP II certification in 2012 as part of USA Volleyball's Coaches Accreditation Program. Dal has coached the 13's through 18's age group winning the Regional championships in the silver division with 15's and 17's. Coach Dal's 16's team also captured the 1st place title in the gold division at the inaugural Queen City Tournament in Charlotte, NC. His most recent accomplishment was finishing 3rd in the eastern gold division with the Brick City 16's. Coach Dal was most recently published in the Volleyball USA magazine, the official Magazine of USA Volleyball.  His article was on developing a team-first culture is the responsibility of all.  Fall issue 2013, Vol.41, No.3, page 58.

Coach Darrell Brown -Coach Brown has an undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in Physical Education.  He has coaching experience in a number of sports including Youth basketball, Middle School baseball and basketball, and Junior Varsity volleyball.  He also assisted Coach Carter with the 2013 15U AAU Brick City team that competed in Orlando, Florida.  Coach Brown is the Lead Pastor of his church and also has many years of experience in Youth Ministry, where he worked with teens in a variety of capacities.  He has taught at both the middle school and high school levels. Coach Brown loves his family and enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters.  He strives for excellence in all areas of his life and is constantly looking for ways to improve both on and off the court.  He hopes to nurture the athlete’s love of the game and help them reach their highest potential.
