Brick City Braves: Welcome

Monday, March 25
Opening Day for Brick City Braves will be April 14, 2013 where they take on the Wright Knights @ Miami University of Middletown.

The Brick City Braves are a new expansion team to the MVABL. The Braves are sponsored by Brick City Sports Club and President & CEO Chuck Doran. To find out more about Brick City Sports Club you can check out their website at The Braves are led by first year head coach Ted Sowards, former Fairborn Fury player, who serves as a defensive presence at first base and offensive at the plate. The Braves look to make a lot of noise in their first year! There is a lot of talent on this ball club and they are more then ready to compete! Leading the way will be catcher and closing pitcher Danny McGeorge, former two time first team all state, a sure 5 tool player with a lot of power and a gun for an arm. McGeorge from Tipp City High school, played his college ball at Sinclair Community College and Urbana University. Danny looks to make huge contributions for this Braves team on offense and defense. Outfielder Matt Dale and infielder Jeremy Wylie, former teammates at Dixie High school and the Dayton Renegades look to provide some punch on offense as they are vast threats to opposing pitchers. Dale batted .580 in his last season, the third highest average in the area that year. Wylie, also a former Fairborn Fury player batted .338 with an over .400 OBP last season, he is also a good utility player on defense. Kris Sisco and Josh Wright are also good hitters who can help this offense and they play outfield and infield. Zach Stewart and Jeremy Liddy will play infield and outfield as well. Handling duties at shortstop when he's not on the mound will be speedster Danny Slaton, a divine top of the order hitter with a great glove and strong arm. Heading the way on the mound will be former Fairborn Fury pitcher Ryan Earley, a 2012 MVABL all star. Earley is a hard throwing right hander with superb control who will look to shutdown opposing teams and keep batters on their toes. The Braves were very fortunate in the 2013 draft by picking up Steve Groves, Chris Funke, and Dan McMenamir, They are a wonderful addition and all talented pitchers. When it comes to pitching this ball club has tons of depth! In addition to Earley, Groves, Funke, and McMenamir other pitchers include Matt Dale, Jeremy Liddy, Danny McGeorge, Kris Sisco, Danny Slaton, Zach Stewart, Josh Wright, and Jeremy Wylie. The Braves are sure to make a splash this season, as they are stacked with talent, and will make a push for the title in the Buckeye Division!
