Wednesday, September 10 REDWING MANAGERS.... LOOKING FOR TOURNAMENTS? Here is a list that shows you the Tournaments that Redwing teams will play in this season. As you consider tournaments for your team, you will be able to see if other Redwing teams are also attending. In some cases, tournament operators offer discounts for multiple teams from the same organization. So, this list may help you see if your team may be able to take advantage of those discounts. This list does not include the NIHL, NWHL or Blackhawk Cup tournaments. Also, we will try and include tournaments that Redwing teams have played in previously, in case that your coaches and you are considering a tournament, but want a little more information. Please feel free to use this information when identifying and planning tournaments for your own team. If you find a tournament or link to good tournament information, please pass it along to share with the other Team Managers and Coaches. Check back to these websites in the coming months as frequently information is updated and new tournaments are added. Some tournaments will be posted numerous times to multiple sites, and some of the more boutique or local tournaments may be hidden gems for which you may really have to do some hunting. It just depends on the type of competitive experience you are seeking for your team. Be careful about placing your team at the right level of competition. Refer to the information in the Redwings Manager Handbook and in the following section. GO REDWINGS! Tournament Levels - Illinois/Other US When searching for tournaments for your team always check the level of play. Nothing is more demoralizing than finding out that you have entered the wrong age group in a tournament, even when you win. Illinois Designation Other US AAA AAA AA A A B B C Ages of players on US teams are from July 1 to June 30. Canadian players ages run on the calendar year. It is advisable to discuss all tournament composition with the tournament sponsors. If Canadian teams are involved, it is even more important as you may find your are playing 'up' or 'down' a half year (or more) in average player age.
