Step 1 - Request a Team Site and administration access
Every team site will need at least one administrator, don't worry the web site is easy to use, no special computer skills required. Contact the Redwings Webmaster to request a team site and adminsistration access.

Step 2 - Become a member of this web site
For instructions on how to become a member, Click Here.
Once you have completed steps 1 & 2, you will be able to make changes to your own team web site.

Step 3 - Log In as Administrator
See the "Admin" button at the bottom of the menu on the left? Click on it and it will ask you for your username and password. This will bring up the administration folders for you to work with.

Step 4 - Start Simple
One of the easiest tasks is to add a welcome message or a news article. Go to your "news" folder and click on "add news". Key in a headline and then some simple text in the text box. Then click on "update news" at the bottom of the page. Then click on "check the site" to see what the public will see. Thats it! Now you are ready to start trying different tasks, click around and have fun.

RANDOM TIPS

Roster Page
ADDING PLAYERS/COACHES Please, Please, Please, LOOK IN THE POOL to see if someone already exists in our system. If you find them in the pool, highlight their name, type in their number and position in the appropriate boxes, then click on "assign to roster". The other method (if they do not exist in the pool) is to click on "add player" or "add coach". Every time you use "add player" it also posts them as a member. Over the years with each new roster, some players have become listed over 12 times. This requires hours and hours of work to clean it up.

PICTURES When adding a team picture, please scale your picture to a maximum width of 480 pixels. This will provide the best viewing without expanding your web page horizontally.

PICTURE FILE SIZE
Average picture file sizes only need to be 25k to 75k. Please do not upload pictures over 150k in file size. The quality of the picture does not improve with larger file sizes when viewed on the internet. We have a limited amount of file space available to the entire web site, so please re-scale your picture file size and length/width dimensions before uploading to the site.

PICTURES AGES UNDER 13 STOP Federal COPPA Laws prohibit diplaying pictures of an individual player under 13 years of age with their name or home town captioned underneath the picture. You can still post pictures but be careful as to how much information is posted with the picture. COPPA The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and Rule apply to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. The Act and Rule also cover other types of information -- for example, hobbies, interests and information collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms -- when they are tied to individually identifiable information.
