Brea Little League: Fields & Equipment
Equipment Needs for Practices and Games
***Important: Label all of your player’s equipment with your player’s initials or last name.***
- Water Bottle (water is preferred; sports drinks are OK)
- Brea LL Sweatshirt or jacket (after practice or game)
- Brea LL Baseball Hat (team hat provided by the League at the end of February)
- Baseball Glove (fit to the hand, not over-sized)
- Athletic Clothes (T-shirt and baseball pants or sweats are preferred; no shorts or jeans)
- Athletic Supporter and Protective Cup (highly recommended for any position and in any division but required if playing catcher in any division). Suggestion: Start wearing it at a young age so that it is comfortable at an older age.
- Baseball Plastic Cleats (double-knotting the laces is preferred; no soccer cleats or metal spikes except in JUNIORS)
- Optional – Equipment Bag
- Optional – Baseball Bat (provided by the League for use during the season)
- Optional – Baseball Helmet (provided by the League for use during the season)
- Optional – Batting Gloves
COMPOSITE BARRELED BATS
Little League International has placed a moratorium on the use of composite bats in the Little League (Majors) Division and below (AAA, AA, A, etc.), effective immediately. For complete article, click here: Full Article.
The list of non-wood bats that are approved for use in Little League Majors and below can be found here: Approved non-wood bats.
Subsequent to that moratorium, some composite bat models have received a waiver for the Juniors, Senior and Big League Divisions. ALL BREA LITTLE LEAGUE GAMES AND PRACTICES FOR THE 2012 REGULAR SEASON WILL BE HELD IN THE CITY OF BREA. Our field locations are; Brea Sports Park, Arovista Park and Country Hills Elementary School. Lower Division Practices will be held at Arovista, Laurel and Mariposa Elementary Schools.

Practice Fields
Your 2011 Practice Field Coordinator is Mike Nicassio.
All practice fields for 2012 will be assigned at the Managers meeting. All
practices will be held at Brea Sports Park, Arovista Park, and Country Hills
Elementary. Lower division practices (T-ball thru Minor A) will be
scheduled at Arovista, Laurel and Mariposa Elementary Schools. Contact Mike

Field Conditions Hotline for the City of Brea (Mudline) 714-671-4437
During times of bad weather please check the City of Brea Field Conditions Hotline before arriving at the field. This hotline is generally updated only when the field conditions change but during times where the weather conditions are changing or the field conditions are tentative, the hotline can be updated several times throughout the day. Do not assume the field will be closed in the afternoon if it is remaining in the morning. Please wait until 3pm to call the hotline if you are scheduled on the field after 4pm.
