Brea Little League Winterball 2009

BREA LITTLE LEAGUE IS OFFERING A NEW AND IMPROVED WINTER BALL PROGRAM.

EXPERIENCE is an important part of your player’s baseball SUCCESS.  In order for your player to be ready for the next level of play next season, your player needs to EXPERIENCE the next level of play before next season.  That EXPERIENCE may be obtained through the non-competitive inter-league Winter Ball Player Development Program. The Program goal is to develop a player that will have more SUCCESS during the regular season due to the practice and EXPERIENCE during the Program.  The Program is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 7 and end on Sunday, November 22.

Starting on Friday, August 7, practices will held on Friday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm for all players that are registered in the Program.  The players, within their division, will travel from Skill Station to Skill Station learning the proper way to perform basic skills such as throwing, fielding a groundball, catching a flyball, running the bases, bunting, and hitting as well as advanced skills such as pitching, diving for a groundball, sliding for a flyball, catching a flyball against the fence, and hitting the ball to the opposite field.  When the season begins, this style of practice will be conducted on Fridays for the remainder of the season.

Starting on Sunday, September 13, games will be scheduled at 1:00pm or 3:15pm against other District 56 Little Leagues at Arovista Park, Brea Sports Park, Country Hills School, or a local Little League.  After daylight savings time ends, the games will be scheduled at 12:30pm or 2:45pm.  Games have a two-hour time limit.  Once participating leagues are set, Rules and Guidelines will be distributed by District 56.

Brea Little League will be fielding teams in the Juniors, Majors, AAA, AA and A levels of play.  The general rule for placement of players is based on the expected level of play to advance or remain for the 2010 season.

Registration will begin on Friday, July 3 and end on Friday, July 24.  The Program Fee is $90.00 for 19 practices, 11 games, a uniform T-shirt, and a hat.  Registration will only be accepted by mail.  Please mail the Registration Form and Fee to: Brea LL WBPDP; P.O. Box 462; Brea, CA 92821.  Register on or before Friday, July 10 and the Registration Fee will be reduced to $80.00.  The envelope must be post-marked July 10 or before in order to
receive the reduced fee of $80.00.
