Brea Little League: Welcome

Welcome to the Offical Website of Brea Little League

Registration Bulletin 12/14/09

To the new Brea Little League parents and players, Welcome!  I hope that the registration process was an easy and smooth one.  I also hope that you will find Brea Little League to be your home away from home. Thank you to the parents and players that have registered for the 2010 Spring Season.  Thank you to the managers and coaches that have completed the 2010 Volunteer Application and to the managers that have completed the 2010 Manager Questionnaire (MCIQ).  Thank you to parents and youth that have completed the 2010 Volunteer Application.  The League is able to better prepare for the upcoming season because of your early registration and completion of paperwork.  Thanks again.

REGISTRATION UPDATE:  Saturday, December 5 was another great day for Brea Little League!  The parents and players arrived hungry for baseball as well as food and beverage.  Registering for the 2010 Spring Season satisfied one hunger while the free donuts, hot chocolate, and coffee at the 'Brea Little League Donut Shop' satisfied the other. Great news!  To date, the total number of players that have registered is more than half of last year's total.  Thanks again for the early registration.

NEXT REGISTRATION: Brea Little League's next registration is on Saturday, January 9 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at Country Hills Elementary School which is located at 150 N. Associated Road (between Lambert & Birch).  This is our last Saturday registration and I expect it to be a busy one.  There could be approximately 300 players registering on that day.  The registration process may take some time, so your patience and understanding would be greatly appreciated.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  Volunteers are needed in the following areas: Auxiliary Board Members, managers, coaches, umpires, field maintenance, scorekeepers, and concession stand.  The number of volunteers is increasing with each registration, but the number is not large enough.  It is impossible to run a successful league without a tremendous team of volunteers.  The Brea Little League Board of Directors is a small group that needs your help to successfully organize and execute the new and exciting plans for the 2010 Spring Season.  We need men, women, and youth who are willing to volunteer for one of the special committees or just a couple of hours per week.  Please help Brea Little League be the best that it can be!  Please consider becoming a part of the Brea Little League Volunteers Team.

AUXILIARY BOARD MEMBERS:  Auxiliary Board Members are needed to manage a special committee such as Opening Day, Closing Ceremonies, Trophies, the newsletter Batter Chatter, and Memory Books.  Auxiliary Board Members are also needed to substitute for the Board Members during Board Duty.  Board Duty is the supervision of a facility while games are being played.  By volunteering two hours per week, you would be providing a tremendous help to the Board Members.  Please consider becoming a part of the Brea Little League Auxiliary Board Members Team.

2010 MANAGERS AND COACHES: The deadline to volunteer to become a manager or a coach is on Thursday, December 31.  Any person that is interested in becoming a manager or a coach for the 2010 Spring Season should complete a 2010 Volunteer Application.  Manager candidates should also complete a 2010 Managers Questionnaire (MCIQ).  Both documents are available on the Brea Little League website (see 'Handouts').  Please submit these documents on, or before, Thursday, December 31 to Pat Lyons, Coaches Coordinator, at bll_coachescoordinator@yahoo.com.

ADULT AND YOUTH UMPIRES NEEDED: Have you ever wanted to know what it is like to make a call as an umpire?  Now is your chance to find out.  Brea Little League is searching for adult and youth umpires in the Single A and AA divisions.  If you are interested in umpiring, please complete a Volunteer Application on-line and then return the document to the Volunteer Table at registration.

TRYOUTS AND SKILL EVALUATIONS: Tryouts are required for placement in AA, AAA, Majors, and Juniors Divisions.  Skills Evaluations are requested by Brea Little League for placement in the A Division.  Tryouts and Skills Evaluations will be held on Saturday, January 16 at the Brea Sports Park on Field #1 and Field #3.  Your registration receipt will provide the time in which your player is scheduled for their Tryout or Skills Evaluation. For documents and/or more information, go to the Brea Little League website at www.eteamz.com/brealittleleague/. Thank you for your continued support of Brea Little League. Happy Holidays!
