Lone Star Classic Results!
Brazos Valley Juniors had 8 teams competing in the 20th annual Lone Star Classic in Dallas and all 8 represented our club and community in fine fashion! There was lots of volleyball and even a full evacuation of the Convention Center on Friday night halting play for over an hour as every player, coach and spectator was rushed to the parking garage bunkers! Some of our highlights during the weekend was an excellent outing by our 141 team to win the Silver bracket going 8-2 during the tournament to finish 17th in the 144 team field. Our 142 team also had a very successful weekend and finished second in the bronze division. 121 is playing great and beat a very strong Mad Frog team in the first round of pool play and then went undefeated on Day 2. Joining them in first place efforts on the second day of pool play were 143 and hustling, scrappy 132! 133 is working hard and shows lots of spunk in the back court and 122 has showed amazing improvement. 131 won three matches this weekend and wins the prize for the coolest water bottles! Also, in Dallas, our 171 team playing in a Warm-up tournament sponsored by Dallas Juniors won 2nd place losing their only match in the tournament finals!
