Brazos Valley Juniors: My Site News: Important News about Scorekeeper Certification
All BVJ players that attended the Scorekeeper Clinic on December 4 need to read this!! In order for your certification to be complete, you must keep score at two full matches at any point during the season. That's the easy part. The tricky part is to make sure that you either take the scoresheet with you at the end of the day (wait until pool play is finished) of the day tournaments or check with the tournament desk at any events held at the Convention Center to see if they will make a copy of the scoresheet, OR at any Houston Juniors hosted event (i.e. Power League and Cross Court Classic) write in Large letters at the top of the scoresheet, PLEASE SEND IN. The staff at Houston Juniors is very good about sending those sheets into the region. If you don't make the effort to get your scoresheets turned in during the season, then you will have to start over next year (sit through the class and take the exam again). If you do get certified, your renewal next year is simply a $10 fee to renew.
