Brazos Valley Juniors: Awards and Honors

Congratulations to the following Brazos Valley Juniors players that have earned individual or team recognition in the 2012 season!

*Nicole DeHaven was named Most Valuable Setter of her District and 1A TGCA All State playing for Iola High School!

*Amanda Gooch was named to the 1A TGCA All State Team and was named District MVP representing Iola High School!

*Myka Morehead, playing for Milano High School, was 16-1A First team leading her team to the Regional Quarterfinals.

*Lauren Loehr, Caldwell High School, was named 18-3A Firsst Team All District.

*Nicole Rockett, Caldwell High School, was named 18-3A Honorable Mention.

*Karsen Ross, Lexington High School, was named 22-2A Setter MVP.

*Madison Smith, Rudder High School, was named 18-4A Newcomer of the Year.

*Lindsey Mitchell, Rudder High School, was named to the 18-4A All District Team.

*Ashley Atkins, Rudder High School, was named 18-4A Honorable Mention.

*Haillie Bagley, Rudder High School, was named 18-4A Honorable Mention.

*Abby Royall, Caldwell High School, was named 18-3A Most Valuable Player.

*Tori Smith, Caldwell High School, was named 18-3A Best Defensive Player.

*Hannah McManus, Caldwell High School, was named 18-3A Best Offensive Player.

*Keaton Schrank, College Station High School, was named 18-3A Newcomer of the Year and was also named to to the Region 3 All Tournament team. Keaton was also named to the TGCA All State Team.

*Sarah Hancock, College Station High School, was named 18-3A First Team All District.

*Alex Bowden, College Station High School, was named 18-3A First Team All District.

*Rachel Nelson, College Station High School, was named 18-3A Second Team All District.

*Haley Wagner, College Station High School, was named 18-3A Honorable Mention.

*Lori Hoffman, College Station High School, was named 18-3A  Honorable Mention.

*Emily Osborne was named 1st Team All State and District MVP for Brazos Christian.

*Christi Brigman earned 2nd team All State Honors  and 1st Team All District playing for Brazos Christian.

*Sydney Stolz, Brazos Christian was Honorable Mention All State and 1st Team All District.

*Landri Brown led Allen Academy to the TCAL State Championship game and was named First Team All-District, First Team All Region and First Team All State!

*Congratulations to Hannah Eike, Maddie Luera, Hannah Sparks, and Allison Vaughan who led Sam Rayburn Middle School to a second consecutive Undefeated Season!

*Congratulations to Caldwell Hornet players who led their team to a Co-District Championship of their 3A District. The team was led by: Lauren Loehr, Hannah McManus, Abby Royall,  and Tori Smith.

*Congratulations to College Station Cougars who are 3A Co-Champions of their district in their high school's inaugural year and finished the season as Region 3 Semifinalists!  The team effort belonged to: Alex Bowden, Natalie Colunga, Maddie Dudley, Sarah Hancock, Lori Hoffman, Kassidy McCabe, Darby Merritt, Rachel Nelson, Sophia Rangel, Keaton Schrank, Hannah Spacek, Hope Spacek, and Haley Wagner.

*Congratulations to  Amber Barker, Taelor Edgin , Madison Taylor,  and  Layne Wilson  for leading 2A Centerville Lady Tigers  to a District Championship.

*Congratulations to Payton Ferrell and Mackenzie Mendez who led their Caldwell 7th grade A team to an undefeated District season.

*Congratulations to Freshman Karsen Ross, who led the Lexington Eagles to the District 22-2A District Championship!

*National Recognition and congratulations to Lindsey Mitchell and Madison Smith from Rudder High School who have been named to the AVCA Phenom list for 2012-2013!

*Congratulations to Hannah Eike, Maddie Luera, Hannah Sparks, and Allison Vaughan who led Sam Rayburn Middle School to a 1st place finish at their own tournament!

*Hailey Bishop, Macie Cannon, Kacey Corbett, Preston Davis, McKinzie Dimery, Rachel Fitzgerald, Taylor Strong, Makenzie Wareing, and Ali Vollentine won the Sam Rayburn 7th grade tournament!

*Kudos to Abbie Altman, Peyton James, and Reagan McGinnis! They were instrumental in leading A&M Consolidated to the College Station ISD Freshman Tournament Championship!

*Freshman, Karsen Ross led Lexington High School to First Place in the Rockdale Tournament!

 * Jordyn Slocum, A&M Consolidated, was named to the All-Tournament team at the Fraulein Fest in New Braunfels, for leading the Tigers to a First place Finish in the Silver bracket.

*Kelsey Coneley, Nicole DeHaven, Amanda Gooch and Shelby Williamson led the Iola Bulldogs to a first place finish at the Snook Tournament. Nicole DeHaven and Shelby Gooch were named to the All Tournament team.

*Raquel Wortham, Bremond, was named to the All Tournament team at the Snook Tournament.

*Karsen Ross, freshman,  playing for Lexington High School, was named to the All  Tournament Team at the Snook Tournament.

*Amanda Gooch, Shelby Williamson, Kelsey Coneley and Nicole DeHaven, led their team, Iola,  to the 1st place finish at the Centerville Tournament. Amanda Gooch was named MVP of the tournament  and Kelsey Coneley, Shelby Williamson, and Nicole DeHaven were named to the All Tournament team.

* Congratulations to Rachel Warner and Katelyn Kieke who have led Burton High School to a great start this season with a First place finish in the Shiner Tournament and a second place finish in the Madisonville Tournament. Rachel was named MVP at the Shiner Tournament for her outstanding play!

*Kimberly Steen playing for Brenham Christian Academy was named to the All Tournament team at the Bellville Faith Academy tournament.

*Iola finished in First place at their own tournament led by Nicole DeHaven, Kelsey Coneley, Amanda Gooch, and Shelby Williamson. Nicole DeHaven was named to the All Tournament team.

* Congratulations to Lindsey Mitchell, Rudder High School, that was named to the ALL TEXAS team Special Recognition  by Lone Star volleyball.com

* Amber Barker, Taelor Edgin , Madison Taylor,  and  Layne Wilson  led their Centerville Lady Tiger volleyball team to a 1st place championship in the Fairfield Varsity Tournament.

*Junior, Chrisit Brigman, playing for Brazos Christian earned the following honors: 1st team All District
   Honorable Mention All State and BCS Outstanding Offensive Player  of the Year.   

*Junior, Abby Cullen, was named 1st Team All District and Academic All District in 12-5A and was instrumental in leading the Bryan Vikings to the Bi-District Championship.

*Junior, Kara Mushrush, was named to the TGCA 3A All State Team!

*Freshman, Amanda Gooch was named to the TGCA 1A All State Team, Texas Sportswriters All State Team and to the All Brazos Valley Team.

*Courtney Hall, playing for St. Joseph's was named TAPP's Academic All State and 1st Team All District.

*Rachel Warner was named to the 1A All Tournament team at the State Championships leading Burton to a Bronze medal at the State Tournament. She was also named to the All Brazos Valley Team.

*Amanda Gooch was named to the 1A All Tournament Team at the State Championships leading Iola to a Silver Medal at the State Tournament.

*Congratulation to Karly Mitchell, Franlin High School, whose JV team  went 24-0 during their 2011 volleyball season.

*Hannah Robertson, Caldwell High School, was named Offensive MVP and Academic All District in 23-3A!

*Amber Barker led the Centerville Tigers to the District 23-2A Championship and winning the Regional Quarterfinals.

*Kara Mushrush, Bellville High was named 1st Team All District (24-3A), Academic All District, and was named to the Region III All Tournament team where her team lost in the Regional Finals.

*Emily Osborne was named 1st team All District and 2nd team All State and Sydney Stolz was named 1st Team All District playing for Brazos Christian School.

*Brooke Engel, Rudder High, was named Defensive MVP for District 16-4A.

*Ashley Atkins and Tylar Williams were named 1st team All District in 16-4A playing for Rudder High.

*Abby Phillips, Rudder High was named Honorable Mention All District for 16-4A.

*Julynn Clayton, Caldwell High School, was named 1st team All District and Academic All District!

*Madison Smith, Caldwell Junior High was named as a KBTX Stellar Student for the month of October.

*Tiffany Gunnels led her Brazos Christian Junior High team to the Bellville Tournament Championship and was named to the All Tournament team.

*A&M Consolidated won their District Championship with a 14-0 undefeated record. BVJ players were: Kaycey Cermin, Hayley Cmajeldka, Jordan Dickson, Mandy Nelson, Jordyn Slocum, Ebonee Smith, and Jessica Wagner,

*Rudder JV won their District Championship. BVJ players were Courtney Bestor, Lynsey Engel, and Ariana Ramirez.

* Rachel Warner, Burton High School led Burton High School to the District and Region Championship and to the State Semi-Finals!

*A&M Consolidated JV won their District Championship. BVJ players are: Emily Caruso, Mattie DeWitt, Hannah Friedman, Lindsey Gore, Carly Hicks, Kelly Karstadt,  Shelby Wagner, Claire Walker, Caitlin Williams, Kelly Williams, Dakota Young

* A&M Consolidated Freshman A team won their District Championship. BVJ members are: Alex Bowden, Christi Corkran, Hannah Hejl, Lori Hoffman, Danielle Hood, Raven Jordan, Paige Kopetsky, Alyssa Lumpee, Rachel Nelson, Haley Wagner.

 *A&M Consolidated Freshman B team won their District Championship. BVJ members are: Meghan Bauman, Natalie Colunga, Kayla Lamont, Darby Merritt, Melissa Pittman, Rebecca Ragusa, Makinsey Rhome

 *Tylar Williams, Rudder High School, was named as a KBTX Classroom Champion!

*Hannah Eike, Aubrey Harvey, Maddy Luera, Hannah Sparks, and Allison Vaughn led Sam Rayburn to the 7th Grade Championship title in the Bryan ISD Tournament. 

*Julynn Clayton, Caldwell High School, was named as a KBTX Classroom Champion! 

* Courtney Bestor, Lynsey Engel, and Ariana Ramirez led the Rudder Rangers, who went undefeated to win the 2 day Porter JV tournament.

*Hannah Eike, Aubrey Harvey, Maddy Luera, Hannah Sparks, and Allison Vaughn led Sam Rayburn to the 7th Grade Championship title in the CSISD Tournament.

*Sarah Hancock, Peyton James, Maddie Jenkins, Grace Jennings, Bryndi Kissman, Kassidy McCabe, Mary Pettibon, Katarina Popovic, Andre Sanchez and Anna Solcher were all instrumental in leading College Station Middle School to First place in the CSISD 8th Grade Tournament.

*Brooke Engel, Rudder High, was named to the AVCA/Max Preps National Player of the week Team. She was one of 8 athletes nationwide to be named to the prestigious list.

* Rachel Warner, Burton High School, was named to the All Tournament team at both the Edna and the Snook Tournament. She led her team to 1st place finishes in both tournaments!

* Jordyn Slocum and Haley  Cmajdalka playing for A&M Consolidated were both named to the All Tournament team at the Fraulein Fest Varsity Tournament.

 *A&M Consolidated JV went undefeated to finish as Champions of the Bryan Junior Varsity Tournament. BVJ players are: Mattie DeWitt, Hannah Friedman, Lindsey Gore, Carly Hicks, Kelly Karstadt, Ebonee Smith, Shelby Wagner, Claire Walker, Caitlin Williams, Kelly Williams, Dakota Young.

  *A&M Consolidated Freshman A team went undefeated to win the Bryan Freshman A Tournament. BVJ members are: Alex Bowden, Christi Corkran, Hannah Hejl, Lori Hoffman, Danielle Hood, Raven Jordan, Paige Kopetsky, Alyssa Lumpee, Rachel Nelson, Haley Wagner.

*A&M Consolidated Freshman B team went undefeated to win the Bryan Freshman B Tournament. BVJ members are: Meghan Bauman, Natalie Colunga, Kayla Lamont, Darby Merritt, Melissa Pittman, Rebecca Ragusa, Makinsey Rhome.

*Raelyn Johnson led the Iola Bulldogs to the Tournament Championship title at the annual Iola Invitational.

  *Amber Barker was a key factor in Centerville's championship win at the Fairfield Varsity Tournament.
