Program on Hiatus in 2008/09
Sadly, the OHSAA ruling (back in May 2008) targeting club sports has put a halt to our program for the upcoming season. We hope to return for the 2009/10 season.
Thanks to all the support from the bowlers, parents, and school administrators who helped us along from 2001-2008.
Feel free to browse this site if you wish to relive some of our glory from prior years. Our team went 135-12 in 2003/04, followed by a 126-21 the next year, for an astounding 261-33 record over two seasons... the best GCIBL team ever in a two year period that featured two league championships.

Braves Close Season with Sweep
We swept the Central Catholic Ironmen in the last match of the season up at Buckeye Lanes. Jeff Light narrowly missed a 700 series, rolling a 692 for a season high.
The Braves are graduating 5 seniors: Eric Bartek and Ryan Theberge, who bowled for three seasons, and rookies Jeff Light, Dave Jones, and Brenton Copenhover.
Nicki Lewis and Amanda Brandt should return next year, but we need to find some new blood to keep the program alive.

Light Lights Up Central Catholic
Jeff Light's 299 in game #3 helped the Braves get their first scratch points of the season vs. Cleveland Central Catholic this week. The Braves won 5 scratch points, and 5 handicap points.
Jeff buried the pocket on the front 11 shots, only to leave a 2 pin on his last ball in the 300 attempt. The 299 ties Jeff for the highest game in school history (Tim Haywood, Billy Magee). His game fueled a 640 series, his season high. Eric Bartek and Dave Jones added 518 & 505 series, while Nicki Lewis rolled her highest game to date in game #3, a 178. Ryan Theberge returned from football season to see his first action of the year.
Our scratch mark is now 5-65, and in handicap we stand at 37-33. Our next opponent is the Parma Redmen, at Freeway Lanes.

The Braves' handicap series is also the 3rd highest in league history (3415), and their 3001 scratch series (Ruffing 625, Rochford 570, Mehozonek 616, Urban 560, & Magee 630) now tops the league for this season at this time.

Braves Blast Bees with Season High Scores
The new year began with a bang at Freeway Lanes, as the Braves exterminated the Brecksville Bees for 7 point sweeps in scratch & handicap.
TJ Brady's 766 series was highlighted by a 290 in game #2 (11 strikes in a row), and Dan Magee and Ryan Theberge added 720 and 685 series', their GCIBL career highs. Eric Bartek and Chris Hart were over average as well, with a 551 & 516.
Our scratch games were 1084-1081-1073 for a big 3238 team series, while our handicap total of 3517 pins is the 3rd highest in GCIBL history (we got 93 pins a game, 279 total hcp).
Mr. Barbee even took notice, as we outrolled everyone in the league...not too bad for a team with a scratch mark of 32-80, and 41-71 handicap.
Next week at Buckeye we will face VA-St. Joseph.
