2012 Registration: Registration for the 2012 season is still open until the skill assessments on March 3rd. If you intersted in playing, please email Tim at davidhtj@stvinc.com A BGSL representative will contact you and discuss the registration process.
All girls in 1st grade through age 18 (prior to Jan.1st) and live in Brandywine area school district are welcome to play. Softball Divisions are 8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under and 18 & under. All girls interested in playing, including 14U age division need to register on the above dates. Registration is $40. Additional child of same family are only $20. There is a mandatory fund-raiser or buyout option.
l To save time, you can download & print your registration form & athletes pledge in advance, look under “handouts” in this web-site.
l Please bring a copy of your birth certificate if you are a new player.
l Parents need to indicate on registration form a current health insurance policy number for all players.
l Registration and skills assessment are mandatory.
BGSL meetings: Conducted the first Monday of every month (Holiday dependant) at 6:30pm, unless noted otherwise. Each month, the league will review orders of buisness, coaching debriefs, including voting on action items. All coaches, parents and interested parties are encouraged to participate. The location of the meetings (unless noted otherwise) will be at:
- October thru May = conducted at the Topton Legion
- June thru September = conducted at the Topton pool field pavilion
ACE Coaching Certification Program: The ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) Coaching Certification Program (offered by the ASA/USA) is a new certification program, developed and designed to provide softball coaches of all levels – from beginning coaches to experienced veterans – an opportunity to certify as a coach with a national softball organization.
Pitching/Catching @ DT: BGSL has reserved the District Topton (DT) Elementary School Gym each Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm. During this time, pitchers and catchers will have the opportunity to work on their skills throughout the winter season. This is for both entry level and experienced players. The dates with extend from November thru March – check the BGSL web-site for updates.
