The Brandon Jr. Blackhawks are a founding member of the Northern Youth Football League (NYFL) and aims to provide an instructional, competitive program in youth football and cheerleading.
The NYFL, established in 2005 with a "Kids First!" philosophy, is comprised of teams from Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Brandon, Clarkston, Lk. Orion, Lapeer, Pontiac, and Waterford.

NYFL Releases Schedule
Equipment Handout Approaches
Equipment handout is scheduled for Saturday, July 26th, from 10am to 2pm An e-mail will be sent out this weekend with the specific scheduled times for each family to allow it to proceed as orderly as possible.

The Northern Youth Football League (NYFL) released the schedule for the coming 2008 season and dates and times have been set.

Brandon opens the season at home, hosting the Clarkston Chiefs (Blue) at Varsity Field, in a renewal of the "Battle of M-15". Labor Day is an off weekend for the entire league with play resuming the weekend of September 6/7 as Brandon travels to Auburn Hills and the Makos (Silver). The Jr. Blackhawks return home versus the Dragons (White) of Lk. Orion and then go to Clarkston, taking on the Chiefs (White) before Waterford brings their "Green" squad to Brandon the final weekend of September. October opens on the road as Brandon goes to Waterford (Blue) and then to Lapeer before finishing the regular season at home, hosting the Patriots (White) of Birmingham.
While the first home game is at Varsity Field, one of the other three home games will be at the new stadium being finished up at Brandon High School.
There will be a three-way scrimmage on Friday, August 15th, with the "Blue" and "Green" squads of Waterford at Varsity field.

Summer Pre-Season Camp Dates
The football program will continue the pre-season camp schedule with practice on Tuesday, July 29th, 6:30-8:30pm, on the grassy field behind Harvey-Swanson Elementary. Cheer and Poms will also have pre-season camps on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 29 and 30th, 6:30-8:30pm, at Harvey-Swanson Elementary.

Board Meeting
The next BJB Board Meeting will be Tuesday, August 5th, 8:00-9:00pm, in the upstairs meeting room at Fire Station #1 in downtown Ortonville. As always, all are welcome to attend and have input in the decision making process.

BJB would also like to welcome two new Board Members, Karla Begovich and Julie Henley, as well as Jim and Cindy McMillan (Freshman), and Robin and Paul Udocon (Jr.Varsity) as Team Parents.
Brandon Hosts Super Bowl IV!
The NYFL picked the Brandon Jr. Blackhawks to host this years Super Bowl. The game will be held at the new stadium on Saturday, November 8th.

Clarkston, Lapeer, Pontiac, and Auburn Hills will host the earlier rounds.

Gratitude Campaign
The Gratitude Campaign is a movement to allow peopla a way to say "Thank You" to servicemen and women when the opportunity allows but words escape us. Click on the picture below to go to the website.
