2009 Step Team Membership Dues

The James Bowie High School Boys and Girls Step Teams (Souljahs and Lady Souljahs) under the direction of the All-Star Coaching Staff at Bowie High School (Christopher Caldwell, Doris Morehead, Carolyn Peterson, and Zandra Marshall) are renowned throughout the State of Texas for their complex choreography and high-energy performances. Last season (2008-09) the girls team placed in shows throughout the state and both teams went on to win another State Championship.
For the past eleven years, the Bowie Step Teams have been ranked among the elite throughout Texas and are usually considered the teams to beat. Last season the "Souljahs" and "Lady Souljahs" shocked the crowd at the 2009 Texas State Championship and won first place in the face of excellent competitors. This brings a total of seven State Championships to the Bowie Step Teams in the last six years.
This year (2009-10) Jonathan Nute and Michael Seaton will lead the "Souljahs". Heather "Jo" Amakwe will lead the "Lady Souljahs". The Supreme Commander post will not been filled for the 2009-10 school year.
Tuesday, November 17
This Friday, November 20, 2009, the Bowie Step Teams will compete in their first competition of the year. The SGA Classic will start at 7pm. The Girls Team is expected to win and the Boys Team is expected to do well. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Location information will be available on Friday. Check back on Friday for more information.
Monday, October 26
The Fall Semester's Officers Luncheon is scheduled for November 5, 2009, at 3:30pm at On The Border. Officers will plan out the final steps in this year's goal of becoming the number one boys and girls teams in the United States.
