Results from the Providence Jam Fest
Providence Jam Fest held in Seekonk,Providence, and West.Warick Rhode Island this past weekend April 7-9 2006
In the opening Pool Play game The Boston Saintz defeated the Young Bucks
with only five players the whole first half. I would like to thank Greg Jackson for holding it down coaching ect...
Due to heavy traffic and us getting lost we had only five players for the first pool play game: Adam Simpkins, Shane Coleman, Quasim Pugh, Jordan, and someone we picked up from the stands to get the game started inspite of we won huge by 15 points.
In Pool Play game number two:
We played the Conn.Select/Flames 55 -Boston Saintz 64 We won 64 to 55 due to a great game from our floor leaders Maurice "Piggy" Mattocks and Our newest member Qausim Pugh
from Worcester Academy "Native of Brooklyn NY."
Qausim Pugh and Jarrett Calhoun lead the way with 14 points a piece
while Ashley Hamilton and "Piggy" contributed 12 a piece.
In game Three: We played a tough C.J. Jammers team We won
Boston Saintz 68 C.J. Jammers 61
Ashley Hamilton lead all scores with 21 points, Qausim Pugh 12 points, Gabriel Fumudoh 11 points,Maurice "Piggy" Mattocks added 12,Jarrett Calhoun finished with 11 points and we won our pool
In the Quarter final game We lost by 7 points due to a slow slow start and the Head man "Coach Pumpkin" Unable to coach down by 15 points at half time
"Coach Pumpkin returns and the light came on in the first six minutes of the second half we cut the lead to six points and just could'nt get the lead
We lost to a good Conn. Basketball Club team by 7 I would love to play them again!!!
Next stop for the Boston Saintz is the Charlie Weber in Washington DC

Boston Saintz 16u keeps the Hardware!!!! "Championship belt"
16 & Under BeanTown Mazzacre Championship
Boston Saintz 63
Hartford Knights 60
Ashley Hamilton and David Riley scored 12 each, and Gabe Fumudoh added 10 as the host Saintz took home the hardware by holding off the Knights in the 16 & under division. Dequon Brooks led all scorers with 18 and Elisius Nieves had 17 in a losing cause.
The Saintz opened the contest with a 9-0 run following a basket down low by Riley. Riley would score inside to make the score 13-3 with 11:00 remaining. A 3 by Brooks would cut the lead to 13-6 with 10:45 in the half. Hamilton would rock the rim to give the Saintz a 15-10 lead at the 8:45 mark. A drive and score by Nieves would cut the lead to 19-16 at the 4:00 mark. The teams would trade baskets for the remainder of the half and would go into intermission with the Saintz up 30-28.
In the second frame the teams would continue to exchange haymakers as the action was back and forth. Down the stretch Hamilton would score 6 points to seal the deal for the Saintz. Hamilton would score on a reverse lay up to give the siantz a 59-52 lead 2:25 remaining. Brooks would can a trey to make the score 59-57 with 1:29 remaining. Hamilton would put an exclamation point on the win with a one hand tomahawk dunk with 30 seconds remaining to give the Saintz a 62-57 lead. Brooks would hit a 3 to make the score 63-60, but it was too little too late. The Saintz survived a tough and worthy opponent in the Knights to take home the hardwood.
