: Welcome
Welcome to Bossier Little League!
Only a few "make-up" games left in the regular season! Our 9/10 Minor Division boys baseball tournament begins Thursday night at 8pm, and runs throughout the weekend. Come out and enjoy some extra baseball! Schedules of the tournament can be found in the "handouts" sections
Little Help!
Did you know the league is an all volunteer organization? The nice folks of Bossier City provide the fields, cut the grass and take out the trash, but otherwise, everything else is done by volunteer moms and dads!
So pitch in and help out - here's how you can do your part: Pick up your trash and place in in the trash receptacles. Make sure your team leaves its dugout clean after every game and practice. Help your coach rake and water the mounds and home plate areas before leaving the fields. In other words, leave the fields in better shape than you found them!
If everyone pitches in, there's no doubt we'll have the finest fields around for our kids! Thanks so much!
Pitch Count Information
Information regarding pitch counts for Minors, Majors and Juniors baseball
can be found on the Pitch Count Information page on the left.
This information is provided to assist our managers/coaches with understanding
pitcher eligibility and hopefully reduce the chance for "overuse" injuries.
Managers & Coaches - please help the umpires during the games by providing your pitchers'
full name and total pitch count once the pitcher exits the mound.
Rainout Information
Be sure to check the handout section for the most updated information about make-up games!
There's a slight chance of rain today - Rain Out Number is 741-8367 - just in case!
Baseball Only - No Changes for Softball in 2012
Machine Pitch, Minors and Majors
For Safety Reasons - Composite Barrelled Bats are not legal - EXCEPT those on the Little League Approved Composite List. In order to use a Composite Barrelled Bat in Machine Pitch, Minor League or Major League, it MUST be on this list.
Approved Composite Bats - Majors and Below (Last Update on May 10)
Junior League Baseball
Composite Barrelled Bats in Junior League are only allowed if they are "BBCOR" certified and stamped. Without the BBCOR stamp/screenprint on the bat, any composite barrelled bat is illegal and may not be used.
Composite Handle Bats
Bats with Composite materials in the handle only are legal in all age divisions - only Composite Barreled Bats are restricted.
Penalty for Using An Illegal Bat (6.06(d))
New for 2012, any BASEBALL player who steps into the Batter's box with an illegal bat will be called "Out". Also, the team will lose one of its two ADULT base coaches. Should it happen again in the same game, the team manager will be ejected! (Don't let that happen!)
Should a Manager/Coach bring it to the attention of the umpire that a team is using an illegal bat, it is the responsibility of the offensive manager to "prove" the bat in question is approved for play in Little League. An updated copy of the approved composite bat list will be kept with the scorebooks on the Machine Pitch, Minor and Major League fields.
