ABOUT BORREGO SPRINGS

The elevation of the Anza-Borrego Desert Park visitor center is 780 feet above sea level, but the town itself is actually about 100 feet lower. The town is, therefore, less windy and tends to have greater extreme temperatures than those recorded in the park.  ALL THINGS TO DO IN BORREGO AREA are at least 5 miles from camp.  The camp has nothing else around it except beautiful cloudless skies and quiet.

Outdoor activities such as:  Camping, Hiking, Walking, Off Roading, Bicycling are not recommended in the summer months due to the daily average temperature of 120 FALWAYS have PLENTY of water on your person at all times - even in winter months.  Observe the buddy system and always let someone know where you are going and what time you plan to return.

Things To Do

  • Auto Tours
  • Walking & Hiking This is the low desert.  PLENTY of water is a MUST at all times.  There are over 100 beautiful hiking trails around Borrego Springs.  Palm Oasis's are a special treat and a great destination for scout hiking.  The trails vary from easy level paths to steep rugged terrain.  The Visitor Center at the ANZA BORREGO DESERT STATE PARK is a great resource for learning about our desert and all the details of great hikes in our area.
