"Rookie" baseball division added for 2010

At it's October 12th meeting, the Board of Directors approved the creation of a "Rookie" division for baseball to help smooth the transition between t-ball and kid-pitch baseball.  The Rookie division is a coach-pitch only division for 6 and 7 year old boys (birthdate as of April 30, 2010).  Boys that played t-ball in the 2009 season will play in the Rookie division in 2010, as will all new 7 year olds.

The Junior baseball division will be a kid-pitch only division. The Juniors will include all 7 year old boys that played in the Juniors in 2009, and all 8 year old boys.  Players that are 9 years old can also request to play in the Juniors if they feel that they would be better off there instead of in the minors.

The Minors baseball division will be for all 9 and 10 year old boys.  Players that are 11 years old may request to play in the minors if they prefer not to play in the majors.  Also, 11 year olds that sign up after tryouts will be put in the minors.

The Majors baseball division will be for all 11 and 12 year old boys.  Players that are 10 wishing to play in the Majors may be selected only if there are open roster spots in the major division at the time of tryouts and the draft.
