Warrior War Song
|
As the school year draws to a close, our J.C. Booth Warrior student-athletes can hold their heads high, knowing that they were competitive in every single sport in which they competed during the past year.
A number of Booth's athletic teams did much more than just compete. It was a stellar year for several of our teams that brought home championships to our school.
The school year started in the fall with our 8th grade Football Team completing its season with a winning record and qualifying for the Fayette County Middle School Athletic League (FCMSAL) playoffs for the first time ever. Also in the fall, the Booth Softball Lady Warriors finished 3rd in the FCMSAL Tournament.
But the winter sports season was where the Warriors REALLY kicked it into high gear.
The 7th grade Boys Basketball Team set the pace by completing their season with a perfect 10-0 record. Not to be outdone, the 8th grade Girls Basketball Team went undefeated as well to win the FCMSAL Championship, completing a 22-0 record that these girls had amassed over a 2-year span at Booth. To top off the incredible basketball year at Booth, the 8th grade Boys Basketball Team captured the school's second FCMSAL Boys title in a row. Along the way, Coach Dave Edinger captured his 400th career win !!!
But that's not all -- the Booth Wrestling Warriors had a season that will be talked about for a long time.
Beginning the season with a goal of ending Whitewater's streak of county championships, the Wrestling Warriors went on a streak of their own, going undefeated in regular season competition and capturing both the Booth Duals and Booth Quads titles. Then, after a sensational back-and-forth battle with Whitewater in the County Championship tournament, Booth came out on top of the defending champions by a SINGLE point to bring home the trophy as County Champions !!! Several individual county champions were crowned at the championships as well.
Closing out the year in the spring, the 7th grade Volleyball Team had a tremendous season, finishing with a 9-1 record and tying for First Place among the 7th grade teams.
After such an amazing year of success in all of these sports, it's no wonder our students are saying, "IT'S GREAT TO BE A BOOTH WARRIOR !!!"
