OPENING DAY IS LESS THAN 24 HOURS AWAY...

We are less than a day away from the opening of the much anticipated 2012 season! The practice time has been put in, the preparation is done, the grills are ready to be fired up and the sound of parents and children enjoying the game of softball and baseball are upon us!

With all of that anticipation and excitement, there are a couple of things to remember:

1. Enjoy it! Cheer on your child, praise them for the hard work they've put in. Remember there will always be 1 team that wins, 1 team that loses, but that your child is out doing their best regardless of the outcome! Let them know that you are proud of them!

2. Take the time to thank your coaches, the volunteers around the park, and the umpires. Without their time and dedication, none of this would be possible! They do this becuase of the impact it makes on the over 700 players in this league.

3. Be loud, be proud, but be responsible! Be a positive role model for the players and other parents in the stands and cheer on your team and let the managers, coaches and umpires handle everything inside the fence. It will make for a much more fun enviroment for all.

The Boone National Little League would like to thank all of the parents, volunteers, sponsors and vendors who have given their time and energy supporting our league and we look forward to another legendary year!

PLAY BALL!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR 2012 SEASON

The Boone National Little League Board is looking to fill (2) open positions on its board. Board members are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the league, finances and decisions which impact the experiences each child who joins our league will have. This incredible responsibility yeilds huge rewards as in 2011, over 800 children had the opportunity to participate in Baseball and Softball including over 20 special needs children! If you are intersted in joining our Board of Directors, please contact Tim Dannen at DT12_27_365@hotmail.com or by phone at 515-709-0861

DON'T THINK YOU CAN SERVE AS A BOARD MEMBER BUT STILL WANT TO VOLUNTEER?

We are also looking for volunteers who can help throughout the year at events like registration, All-Star voting, opening ceremonies, candy sale, Grandparents weekend, etc. This doesn't require a long term committment but will help us make these even go even more smoothly and quickly. If this sounds like something that you would like to do, please contact Tim Dannen at DT12_27_365@hotmail.com or by phone at 515-709-0861

After a couple of months and many, many volunteer hours as well as a couple of very generous grants from the Boone County Endowment Fund and the Pratt-Fenton Charitable Trust Fund, the Creasman Field Press Box Renovation is nearly complete.

This project has been a major task as it required changing of the baseplate, residing, new stairs, roofing, as well as a new rolling access door and moving all of the old electrical indoors. This is just one example of how the Boone Community, Volunteers and financial friends working together make a difference for the children of Boone. The Gary Creasman Field will be used by hundreds of young ladies including players from the Little League, Boone High Softball, and The Lady Bears of DMACC

The Boone National Little League would like to thank Cris Hulse, Tony Taylor, Dan Price, the Boone Little League Board of Directors for all of their hard work.  The Little League would also like to give a big thanks to Boone County Endowment Fund and the Pratt-Fenton Charitable Trust Fund for helping fund the project. Without all of you, this project would just have been an empty dream.
