I attended my first game today to watch some children I know play. I was disappointed to see that not all kids received the opportunity to play at all. If I were a father of one of these kids, I would be livid. There is nothing fair about what these kids are put through. These kids are there to learn and play the game of football win, lose or draw. My son is almost to the age where he is eligible to play, but after what I saw today, I'm not sure he would benefit from this organization. Its disapointing when the Coaches play their kids the entire game and the rest sit on the sideline. For this organization to sit back and allow this to happen week after week is unacceptable. Become the leaders you were appointed to be! Do something about this now before it becomes too late. You are doing a disservice to the children and the orgainzation. Set your coaches down, set some guidelines and enforce them. Its not always about winning!

WOW! It's really good to see the program doing so well after all these years. I played on the Midget football squad in the '91-'93 timeframe. I love every single aspect of what the program promotes and stands for. Personally, I wish I had the opportunity to thank each one of my coaches during that time for instilling the discipline, teamwork concept, and comradery in me at such a young age. I feel this program, and others like it, gives our children an opportunity to establish structure and leadership traits at a young age that they carry throughout the rest of their lives. I feel certain most will look back in retrospect at some point in their lives and appreciate everything the program has done for them just as I have. In closing, thanks to all the supporters, volunteers, parents, staff, and coaches for keeping this program running and running successfully.

Signed,

I have a few things to say. This is my son's first year playing for Boiling Springs and after a rough start, he likes it.. a lot! I think all of the coaches have been INCREDIBLE! I give them all credit for taking the time from their daily lives to spend time coaching. I respect what you do. Now, on the other hand my only complaint is that there has been an issue with some of the players not being able to play games because of their weight. What is this showing the kids? "Sorry, you cant play because you weigh 5 more pounds than a child on another team"?? When we signed up for this, I knew that my son may be up against kids smaller and BIGGER than him.. but that is FOOTBALL.. where sometimes being bigger is better! I have had to explain to my son a few times now that he couldn't play.. I dont think the kids that weren't able to play deserved it. I have tried to teach him that the most important part of him playing football is that he is part of something.. part of a team.. one in which EVERY player is IMPORTANT and has to do their part in order for the team to work.. but unfortunately now i have to find a way to explain that because of his weight he STILL is important, but yet NOT important enough to play..doesn't quite seem fair. Last time I looked, there were some BIG boys playing Professional Football..And for all the opposing team coaches complaining about the weights, maybe they have forgotten what football is all about and are coaching the wrong sport.. the tennis courts are across the way :)

I would just like to voice my opinion on an issue that i know we are the only ones that are not having this issue. It is that I understand that not every child gets equal playing time, that is not the problem, the problem is that if we are to pay the same price as everyone else in the league, show up for practice every night of the week like everyone else, and be a team as the coaches would like for them to be, shouldn't the boys actually get at least a quarter of playing time in. They work just as hard as the others if not more. I think that this is becoming a big issue for this organization, every kid wants to play, make a touchdown, to build thier self-esteem up. Coaches dont care they see it as they need a win and/or my son wants to play this position so he is playing it if he is good or not and he will play the whole game or most of the game because that is my son. I see it in Football and Baseball, that is why more parents are not letting thier kids sign up, or they take them out of the district and sign them up.
