The AYFL is changing weights and age groups for the 2008 season. The official age/weight bracket is listed below.
League Age Weight
8 and under 75
10 and under 90
11 and under 105
12 and under 115
13 and under 125
14 and under 140
14 and under UNL

* After week 3, each player will get an additional 5lbs assuming you make regular weight during the first 3 weeks.
PRACTICES: For those players chosen for teams, practices begin on Monday July 21 at Patch Reef Park and will be every day from 6-8 p.m. until school starts. Once school begins, Monday practices are discontinued. Players are expected to attend every practice, and to arrive and be picked up on time. This demanding schedule requires our student athletes to balance (school) work and play. Practice attendance may affect game participation.
SEASON: The 11-game season begins on August 16 and ends on October 25. All games are played on Saturdays; the 75s begin at 9:00 and games begin one after the other throughout the day (90s usually start at 10:30, 105s at noon, 115s at 1:30, 125s at 3:00, 140s at 4:30, 14/Unlimiteds at 6:00). For qualifying teams, playoffs are November 1 and November 8; the Super Bowl is scheduled for November 15. There is also an All-Star game on November 22, for which each team sends five players.
PLAYING TIME: The Boca Jets play in a competitive league; there are no minimum playing time rules. MAKING A TEAM DOES NOT GUARANTEE PLAYING TIME. The teams coaches determine position and the amount of playing time.
OPPONENTS: The Boca Jets are proud to belong to the AYFL, South Floridas premiere youth athletic league. Our home games are at Patch Reef Park and away games are at other AYFL team locations which include Coral Springs, Tamarac, West Pines, Pembroke Pines, Cooper City, Sunrise, Davie, Plantation, Weston, Coconut Creek, Pasenda, Ft. Lauderdale and Northeast Ft. Lauderdale. The Boca Jets do not provide transportation.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT: WE NEED YOUR HELP! We encourage parents to get involved and help to make the football/cheerleading experience the best it can be for our kids. There are many areas in which to help -- team managers, statisticians, homecoming committee, field set-up and take-down, chain gang, announcers, holiday parade committee, etc. See a board member for more information about these opportunities.

Cheerleading Information
Practice:Practice officially begins on July 7th and will be Monday through Friday for that first week only. Then we will practice Tuesday through Friday (6 – 8) until school begins. Once school begins, our practice schedule will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 – 8pm and Pee-Wee’s from 6 – 7:30pm. There will be at least 2 pep-rallies this year, which will be on a Friday from 6 – 7:30pm. Games are 1½ to 2 hours long depending on the team and the girls are required to be there 45 mins. before the start of a game. Girls must be signed in for each game and can not miss more than 3 games or they can not go to competition. Competition is scheduled for Nov. 11th this year and will be held at the UM convocation center in Miami. This is an all day event and is mandatory. In October, we will add another day of practice to prepare for this competition. The 2 weeks before our competition are MANDATORY and there will be NO excused absences. Requirements:Cheerleaders are required to purchase cheer shoes, bloomers, crop top and hair bow. A uniform will be given to each cheerleader with a $135.00 deposit which is refundable when the uniform is returned. Uniforms are to be worn on game day only. If your child stays before or after their game, they need to bring a change of clothes.A cheerleading camp/clinic will be scheduled in Aug. or Sept. This clinic is normally $50.00 and is an additional charge to you. This is a safety clinic for stunting and is mandatory!Rules and a demerit system will be in place once the teams are set and a copy will go home for each cheerleader and parent to sign and return. Every parent is required to volunteer for a minimum of 2 hours during the season. This is a volunteer organization and cannot operate without volunteers. ** Failure to follow the rules and guidelines set by the Boca Jets and the AYFLC can and will result in dismissal of the program.
