Meet the Coaches

Assistant Reserve & Varsity Coach Hammer
Jim is in his 5th year coaching youth football, hs 3rd at St. Columban.

Jim is the defensive coordinator for both the Varisty and Reserve Teams.

Mike has been married to Patty for 17 years. They have three children: Michael (a junior at Moeller), Will (8th grade), Dana (4th grade).

Mike has been coaching at St. Columban the past 3 years.

He was born in Cincinnati and grew up in Greenhills, graduated from Rober Bacon High School, The Ohio State University, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Mike is a Medical Director and works at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital and is a Professor at the U.C. College of Medicine. He specializes in the pediatric mental health area and is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.

His favorite interests are working with kids, coaching football, the outdoors, hiking and fishing.

Scott has been married to Anne for 15 years they have four children:

Ryan - Freshman at Moeller
Joshua - 5th grade
Nicholas - 3rd grade
Tyler - Pre-K

Scott is a Regional Sales Manager for a Pharmaceutical Company that manufactures
and research's products for pain management.

His favorite hobby is being with family and friends

Scott and Anne were both born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. They lived in
Cleveland for 5 years prior to moving to Cincinnati just over three years
ago.

Assistant Reserve Coach Andy Galvin
Andy has been married to Karen for 17 years. They have one son, Joe (6th grade).

Andy was born in Cincinnati and recently moved back after 12 years of relocating with Kraft Foods. Andy and Karen have lived in Atlanta, where Joe was born, Milwaukee and Columbus before moving to Loveland.

Andy is a, Business Manager with Kraft Foods and manages. . .

Yes he is the big Weenie.

Andy is enjoying his first year coaching with St. Columban.


Assistant Reserve Coach Stiene
Henry Stiene

Married to Beth (12 years) with three children; Andrew is in 5th grade, Eric is the 4th grade and Danielle is in the 1st grade.

Henry is a member of Beacon Orthopaedics and treats orthopaedic injuries of all types in all age groups with specialty training in Sports Medicine. He enjoys coaching football and baseball. His hobbies include landscaping and cycling.

"I have the most fun when I'm with family, coaching young athletes, and helping people recover from their injuries."

Henry and Beth have a "mixed marriage" in that Beth is from Cincinnati and still admits to being a Bengals fan while Henry, from Cleveland roots for the Browns. The children wisely root for whichever team is winning.

Pete has been married to Chris (Kelly) Kelsey for 17 years. They have 3
children: Ryno (8th grade), Alli (5th grade), and Molly (2nd grade).

Pete attended Roger Bacon High School and The University of Cincinnati. He works for Summit Funding Group. SFG leases equipment to Fortune 2500 companies.

Pete's Favorite activity is spending time with family and friends!!


Assistant Reserve Coach Drew
Mike Drew

Coach Drew is employed with Procter and Gamble as a Planning Systems Manager for their Global Paper Sites.

Mike and his wife Cindy have three children; son Jon is a 2nd grader at St. Columban, son Chris is a 6th grader at St. Columban, and daughter Shannon is a Freshman at Ursuline. The 5Drews are native Missourians and moved to Loveland two years ago.

When asked about his hobbies, Mike said,"Hobbies? Who has time for hobbies! Our kids have enough for all of us!" When he has time he enjoys reading, running, and of course coaching football, baseball, or whatever else is in season. One of these days he'll get back to hunting, trap shooting, camping, and maybe even golf.

"Life has three phases ... raising cain, raising kids, and getting to know your wife again. I did real well at the first one, I'm working real hard at the second one, and I'm looking real forward to the third one."

Coach Frank is employed at Cold Jet Inc. as a Business Manger and Director of Customer Support Services. "We do the improbable on a daily basis; the impossible takes a few hours longer."

Wife: The lovely Sheila Frank (married 18 wonderful years)
Kids: Ryan "Ryno" Frank, 6th Grade and Rachel, 4th Grade both attend St. Columban.

Part time, unpaid musician, and terrific dancer.

Hobbies include (but not limited to) hunting, fishing, outdoors, coaching football, and having a great time with the family.

Born in Morrow, Ohio. Grew up in Cincinnati and has lived in the Loveland area for 18 years.


Assistant Pony Coach Raftery
Tom Raftery, Pony Assistant Coach

Married to Susan. Susan's favorite hobby is running, both recreational and competitive.

His son Kyle is in 4th grade, and daughter Allison is in 2nd grade. Kyle plays baseball and basketball but football is his favorite sport. Allison plays soccer and loves to play piano.

Coach's favorite hobbies are coaching (of course) and doing all kinds of activities with his family. He is a huge fan of all sports, especially college football. And without question he wishes he had more time to spend on the golf course.



Varsity Head Coach Tim King
Coach King is a native of Loveland. He graduated from Moeller High School in 1981.

While at Moeller he was a member of 3 state and national championship teams which won 46 games and lost 1 during his fours years at Moeller.

Coach King holds the following degress: BS in Education from the University of Dayton. A Masters in Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy and a BS in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

Coach King is single and has one daughter, Kristin Nicole King - 4 years old and he resides in Maineville, OH.

Profession: Funeral Director/Embalmer at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, Manager of our Goshen location

2nd profession: Coaching
Coached various sports including basketball, track, baseball, softball, tennis and football for 16 years (4th year at St. Columban).

Hobbies and Interest: Sports, travel, photography, cultural events

Collect: Autograph photo's of successful people, Disney books and anything Disney, as well as, precious moments for my daughter.

Future goals: Seeing my daughter graduate from high school, then college. To build a successful funeral home, build a Tradition of success at St. Columban (win a CYO city championship), and meet a Catholic woman and have a family (few kids).

Employed with Procter & Gamble where he is an Associate Director in Global Internal Controls IT which means he is catching cyber terrorists and internal embezzlers.

He prides himself on being a good teacher and friend for all of his players. He is very approachable and open to parent input.

His wife's name is Coleen and they have four lovely children: Ryan, Dillon, Madison, and Halle.

His hobbies are spending time with his family and enjoying life! He is a sports enthusiast (has played football, basketball, track, and baseball), enjoys outdoor activities, landscaping, and traveling.

Jim's hobbies are cycling and running. Jim and his wife Carol have 3 children; Andy (9), Matt (8), Emma (5) and another on the way.
