FINANCIAL STATEMENT

 

 

 

4.  Treasurer presented the final 2001 season statement. Bank Balance is $1823.00 as of 31 Dec 01.

OLD BUSINESS

 

 

 

5a. Umpire wages will be $25.00 for Burlington games and $26.00 for Oakville games.

b. $350.00 delinquent chq still outstanding from one of the teams from last year. Team rep to contact treasurer and make necessary arrangements to clear up matter ASAP.

 6. a. It was confirmed that next season will consist of a 22 regular season schedule. Play everyone once then break off into A division and B division. Top 8 Bottom 8. Mike Dillullo will produce a schedule based on Tues (4 games) and Thurs (4 games) at Sherwood and Friday games at Glen Ashton (4 games). Everyone present favored the two-division format. Season should start 7 or 14 May ( pending final approval) and playoffs end by 26 Sept. When creating schedule, no games will be scheduled before long weekends, week must be set up after the first 15 games for rainouts, rainout dates planned at end of season. Tournament dates?

6b. It was motioned, 2nd and approved that the playoff format be as follows. Within each division (A &B) teams will be ranked 1 to 8 based on final standings. 1 Vs 8, 2 Vs 7 and so on. They will have 2 out of 3 playoff round, with the winner advancing to the semi finals within their division. Loser will go to a consolation round with the other first round losers within their division. The semi finals and finals will be 2 out of 3 also with the loser knocked out. There will be a division winner and consolation winner (only from the first round losers).

6c. Season scheduled for 7 May to 26 Sept 02. Mid season tentatively planned for 9, 10, 11 Aug 02. More to be discussed on these dates.

6d. It was discussed that the league fees will cost approx. $1400.00 per team this season due to the fact that the city of Burlington wants to increase park cost approx. 26%. This would increase our total park cost to approx. $7700.00 for Burlington only. Treasurer to calculate approx. season cost prior to next meeting to approve final league registration cost. Teams are to pay $700.00 down deposit at the next league meeting on 15 April 02.

 

6e. Numbers were drawn for each team for scheduling purposes.

NEXT COMMITEEE MEETING

 

 

 

7. Next meeting will be held at Arnorlds Sport Bar in Oakville at 7:30 on the 15 April 02.  Directions:  QEW – Dorval exit – South – Turn Right on Speers. First street, turn right ( Morden ) – go to the end of the street. It’s on your right hand side. 485 Morden Rd Oakville.
