OLD/NEW BUSINESS

 

 

 

5. Tournament scheduled for 25 to 26 July is a go. Brad reported that he has arranged everything for the Beer Tent and Food. Everything will be in place Friday night at the Sherwood Park Pavilion. All teams will be playing at least one game Friday night. It would be appreciated if all teams supported the league by going to the pavilion for refreshments after their game. No drinking in the parking lot will be permitted. It is expected that the Beer tent and food will be opened at approx 1130am on Saturday. Finals of tournament should be played at 6:00 pm on Sat. It would be appreciated if all teams stayed Saturday evening, watched the final game, (if your not in it), and support our league through the use of the Beer tent. Come out and have a good time. PS. Brad has informed us that the servers are good looking if you don’t want to watch ball. But we all know, no one on the Roxbury team is good looking! 

 

6. Brad to be given a chq for $225.00 ASAP for the liquor license.

 

7. Last day to accept teams for the tournament will be 20 July 03. New teams need to contact Remi by this date. Currently all teams are in from our league (13). Expect to get at least 1 more.

 

8. Tournament will be played Friday Night and Saturday. Sunday will be used for a rainout day. We will umpire our own games, except the semi’s and finals.1 ½ hr games will be played, no new inning to start after 1 hr 20 min. 1 warm up pitch between innings. Coin toss will determine home team. Teams scheduled for the first game on Friday night and Saturday are to bring their bases and home plate. Flip coin to see what bags you use. For the first Saturday games, it will be expected you leave your bags their all day.

 

9. Tournament format will be something like this. Currently planning 14 teams. Two divisions of 4, one of 6. Everyone plays a min of 3 games within their divisions. Top team advances, Top two advances from the division of six. Divisions will be determined from drawing names from a hat. Note: If you are in the division of six teams you will only be playing 3 teams within that division. To be determined by a draw. Winner of each division wins $50.00. Two winners in the div of six. Semi final winners win $50.00 and the winner of the final game wins $100.00.

 

 

 

 Teams will get 2 points for a win and one point for a tie. Tie breaking formula will be in accordance with Slo-Pitch Ont rulebook. Head to Head, best won/loss record between tied teams, best run differential between tied teams or common opponents, etc. Scheduler to refer to rulebook. Max of a 7 plus or Minus will be applied for run differential per game. Bottom of the seventh will not be played if home team is winning. Team had a choice of coin toss if they wanted to be home team or visitors. Rules and schedule to be confirmed a week prior to the tournament. Regular league rules will apply for all games.

 

10. Teams are asked to fwd an Email to Casey if your team requires new balls. Casey will get ball for the tournament

11. For games that have been rainout to date or rainouts that will happen will be rescheduled between the 15th and 21st of Aug. Carl will schedule them by the 8th of Aug and let teams know.

NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING

 

 

 

15. Next meeting will be held at Arnorlds Sport Bar in Oakville on 21 Aug at 7:30PM to discuss playoff and align teams, Directions:  QEW – Dorval exit – South – Turn Right on Speers. First street, turn right (Morden) – go to the end of the street. It’s on your right hand side. 485 Morden Rd Oakville.
