At our Sunday, April 20 tryout we had a special guest for the
goaltender tryout. Sam Gagner, Edmonton Oiler, former London
Knight and still brother of Jess Gagner from last year's Bluewater
Junior team, joined us to help pepper our goaltender prospects
with pucks. After showing his stuff on the ice and his amazing
stick work, Sam obligingly posed for pictures with goaltenders
and shooters.

2008-09 Coaching Staff, Season Overview
Our full tryout schedule, season overview and details about
the Bluewater Junior Hawks coaching staff can be found in
a new printable handout at the "Handouts" section of this website.
Check it out.
We are pleased to announce that Dave Gagner, assistant coach for
the OHL Junior A London Knights, will be augmenting our coaching
staff this coming season as a "senior, mentoring coach."
As tryouts approach, another reminder that if you played for another
OWHL affiliated team other than a Bluewater team in 2007-08, you
will need to present a Permission to Skate form obtained from your
last association before you hit the ice with Bluewater. Good luck to all.

Hawks Take to the Water
On Sept. 5, our players took to the water to
learn more about teamwork and commitment.
They were guests of Al Morrow, head coach
at the Canadian Women's High Performance
Rowing Centre at Fanshawe Lake in London.
After talking about the sort of drive needed
by rowers to achieve their dreams of Olympic gold,
Coach Morrow had our girls join members of the
University of Western Ontario women's rowing
team in eight-person boats.
It was a beautiful night on the lake and our
players, who tend to prefer their water in
the form of ice, had a blast. Thanks, Coach
Morrow and Mustang rowers for sharing your
wonderful sport with our Hawks.

Canada's National and Olympic team members Jennifer Botterill
and Meghan Agosta, the latter being a Bluewater alumnus.
Thank you ladies, you made our school a very special event
for some girls who would love to follow in your skate-steps.
