Welcome to the Bluegrass Youth Soccer Association!

BYSA Logo

The Bluegrass Youth Soccer Association is an all volunteer organization located in Danville, KY and operated under the umbrella of the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association.

BYSA is an organization which requires parent/guardian participation!!!!

Youth sports leagues cannot exist without assistance from parents. The Bluegrass Youth Soccer Association is no exception. BYSA requires that parents participate in the operation of the league.  There are many jobs that need to be done.  Some require very little time and others are a substantial commitment.  Please contact a league board member to find out how you can do your part.

“REGISTRATION FOR SPRING 2010 SEASON IS CLOSED”

NOTE: After registration ends on Feb 28, team formation and scheduling will be completed and there will be a Coaches meeting on Thursday, March 11, 2010. Practices will start the week of March 15. 2010 and games will begin the week of April 12, 2010 (After Spring Break).

Volunteer Requirement Policy

BYSA depends on parent volunteers to keep us going.  Our most important volunteers are our coaches, but we depend on parent volunteers in many areas.

If you choose not to participate in our volunteer program, you may opt out by paying an additional $20 per child, maximum $20 per family.

Volunteer Choices

Coach:  Coaches are our most important volunteers.  You do not need any experience to volunteer to coach a BYSA team, especially at the younger age groups.  If you have a willingness to work with children and want to have some fun, please volunteer to coach a team.

Assistant Coach:  Help the head coach with practices and on game days.

Team Parent:  Every team needs someone willing to help the coach with various activities, like coordinating snacks for the games, helping with communication, coordinating the end of the year party.  This should not require a lot of time but is a necessary part of the team.

Team Marshal:   Every team must have a designated team marshal for each game.  At each game the team marshal will identify themselves to the referee and let them know they are there to assist.  The main purpose of the team marshal is to oversee sideline activity during the games.  Typically there are enough players that each parent can work one game, although you are not limited to one game.

Team Formation Volunteer:  This position is for the person who wants to really get involved with BYSA.  You will assist with online registration, recruiting coaches and forming teams using the guidelines established by the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association and BYSA.    This position can require several hours of work per week prior to the start of season.

Volunteer Coordinator:  This is for the person who is good on the telephone.   For example, if we need 10 people to help distribute flyers, we will ask the volunteer coordinators to find volunteers to do the job.  We will provide you with a list of people to contact.

Other:  This covers just about anything.  We are always looking for people who can help line fields, distribute flyers, work on administrative tasks, and serve on various committees for special projects as they crop up.  If you are versatile and willing to help, this is the thing for you.  We will call you if we need you.
