**NFSA NATIONALS**
The CyFair Blaze brought the NFSA National Title back home this past weekend.
These girls were on fire from start to finish by giving everything that they had.
They had 2 scrimmages on Tuesday. The first one was the 16u Clarksville Patriots which the Blaze won by 2-0. Next was the 16u Pac N Heat. The girls played great ball to beat this team 3-0.

Next were the pool games which seeded you in bracket. Their 1st game was against Connexion. They dominated this game with a run rule of 11-0. They then played the Blitz and run ruled this team with a score of 11-0. This putting them 1st in the pool gave them a bye on Thursday.

Bracket game started against the Gulf Coast Coastiliners. The Blaze kept their bats alive winning with a score of 7-1. Next in line was the Sugarland Fillies. These girls came back on Saturday to dominate this game 8-0. Next was the Third Coast Thunder. This game was a close game with a bad call on both sides. The Blaze held strong to beat them 4-1. We knew we would see them again. To get to the Championship game, these Blazeballers needed to beat the Lady Dragons from TN. The girls were determined to do it the easy way this time by not falling into the losers bracket. Their bats were on fire sending several balls to the fence and defeated this team 11-1. Beating the Dragons now puts the Blaze in the Championship game. BLAZE & Third Coast Thunder for the Championship. This game was an awesome display of 2 teams determined to win. The Blaze came out on top with the first run. In the top of the 7th inning, Thunder scored to tie the game. The Blaze had 1 more chance before going into ITB. 2 Basehits in a row scored the winning run. A Championship game couldn't have been any better then coming down to the wire in the 7th inning to determine the winner!

CONGRATS to Third Coast Thunder for 2nd place and to the Lady Dragons for their 3rd place finish.

A BIG THANK YOU to Melissa for coming with us and taking part winning a National Title!

As to our girls, what a way to end the season with a NFSA NATIONAL TITLE!!!!!!!!

***WFC 18u SOUTHEAST TEXAS STATE CHAMPS***
The CyFair Blaze played 18u this past weekend in Tomball and walked away with the Southeast Texas 18u Texas State Champs.

They started out alittle sluggish in their pool games on Saturday but turned it around by winning their 1st bracket game against the Spring Branch Havoc. Their next game was against the Central Texas Sting. It was an awesome game that came down to the last inning and Sting came away with the win 1-0. The Blaze knew what they needed to do on Sunday. They started out playing the Spring Branch Havoc and sent them home. They were able to rest for 1 game and the rest of the games were back to back. They then played the CyFair Starz and sent them home. These girls knew what they were up against in the next game. They were playing the team that put them in the losers bracket. They brought their bats this game and defeated the Central Texas Sting 8-0. The bats never quit. Championship game was against the MC Elite. These Blazeballers had to double dip them! They did so with their bats on fire beating them 11-0 and then the if-game was 8-1. What a great weekend for these girls!!!
Awesome pitching, defense and what can we say about those BATS!!!

Keep them bats hot for when you go to Regionals in 2 weeks!!!

HEY, DID ANYONE SAY LOBSTER???

**2004 NFSA NATIONAL TEAM-BLAZE DAWGS**
This team was decked out in red, white and blue for opening ceremonies and was the best dressed team there.

Along with that, this team won with the most fan support.

Last, our #88 Brooke won the Homerun Derby which entitled her to a brand new Synergy Bat!

These young ladies had a blast at opening ceremonies from parading on the field to dancing to eating pizza and pin trading with the other teams.

**NFSA RUNNER-UPS**
Congratulations goes out to the CyFair Blaze for bringing back to Texas the Runner-up Trophy for the NFSA Nationals that was held in Biloxi, Mississippi.

These girls played hard all week and played together as ONE!!!

The only team to beat the Blaze was the Voodoo. Once being knocked in the losers bracket by them, these girls were determined to meet up with them in the Championship game. After beating TCB 11-3 in the semi-final game, the Blaze had another chance with Voodoo in the Championship game, only to fall short again with a score of 1-0. The Blaze fought hard but after it being their 4th game in a row, they just ran out of gas.

Congrats goes to New Orleans Voodoo for winning the NFSA Nationals.

The Blaze would like to thank Nells, Destiny & Sarah for playing pick-up and doing an AWESOME job.

Also, the Blazeballers would like to thank Beaumont Blast for coming back to the Championship game and rooting for them!! THANK YOU!!!

WHAT AN AWESOME WAY TO FINISH THEIR 1ST YEAR OF 14U-CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT YEAR!

2003 ASA "A" NATIONAL TEAM
We tied for 49th out of 83 teams. Not what we expected. This tournament was just not meant to be. There will be another National tournament next year that this team will gear up for. Overall, this team had a very successful season by winning & beating most of the 2nd year 12u teams and winning several 14u "A" tournaments.

*MORENO VALLEY NEWSPAPER*
**TEXAS CF BLAZE 10U FINISHED TIED FOR 9TH**
The CF Blazeballers were in Moreno Valley, California playing at the BIG SHOW-ASA "A" Nationals. They had a safe trip and they were ready to play some ball. There were a total of 42 teams entered in this tournament as far away as Oklahoma, Texas, Hawaii and Illinois.

The Blazeballers made the front page on the Moreno Valley newspaper decked out in their new uniform and red and black cowboy hats.

August 2, 2001-Their 1st bracket game was against the Grapettes at 10:00 a.m. These Blazeballers are back. These girls outscored this team 8-0 with a shut out game, tremendous hitting and awesome defense to make this game complete.

August 2, 2001-2nd bracket game was against Dynasty from Broken Arrow, OK. The final score was 8-4. These Blazeballers jumped out on top in the 1st inning with 5 runs and never looked back.

August 3, 2001-3rd bracket game is against the G-Force from Glendora, CA. The Blaze came out strong and beat this California team 5-2.

August 3,2001-4th bracket game against American Pastime. These Blazeballers gave them this game in the first 2 innings giving them 5 runs. After that, these girls settled in and hung in there with this very strong CA team which then only scored 2 runs, final score was 7-2.

August 4,2001-5th bracket game is against Runnin Rebels of Stockton, CA at 2:00 p.m. The game didn't get started till around 2:45 p.m. and the score was 1-1 in the bottom of the 3rd inning with "T" on 3rd base and "Stretch" up to bat. To everyone's surprise, gun fire broke out just outside of the right field fence behind our field. Everyone was evacuated to a nearby community center. It was very tense for a short time, but everyone from all the teams came away unharmed. The shots were not directed at any of the children but came from a man that was being chased by police over a traffic altercation. There were lots of compliments from the other teams and ASA for our coaches for protecting the girls on the field by covering them and putting their own bodies in harms way. It showed the Texas Blaze spirit everywhere we go. Moreno Valley will never be the same. These girls should never have to have gone through this but they seem to be coping quite well. We just got back to our hotel around 7:45 p.m. CA time and the game will resume on Aug. 5, 2001 at 8:00 a.m. All games were cancelled at that field for the rest of the tournament.

August 5, 2001-5th bracket game continued with Runnin Rebels. Well, we lost 2-1. We had several opportunities to win the game but just couldn't do it. In the bottom of the 6th inning, bases loaded and 1 out and just could not score to keep the game alive. Next time, we hope to give the California teams a run for their money!!!

Out of all the teams that tried to make it to the BIG SHOW, 42 teams made it to Moreno Valley. The CF Texas Blaze finished tied for 9th out of all those teams.

WE WISH THEM THE BEST OF LUCK IN 12U THIS FALL!!!
