Last week: Decatur defeated Oxford 14-7 in the Class 6Aplayoffs, Bob Jones defeated Hewitt-Trussville 35-14
Storyline: A rematch of the Patriots' 20-7 regular-season win. Two keys to the game will be whether the Red Raiders - who fumbled at the goal-line while trying to take a fourth-quarter lead in the last game - can keep Bob Jones' big plays to a minimum and run the ball against the Patriots. Bob Jones, 5-17 all-time in the postseason, seeks to become the first team in school history to win a second-round playoff game. Decatur is 23-22 all-time in the playoffs. The winner plays either Gadsden City or Florence.

Storyline: The Patriots from Birmingham are coming off their first win. But a check of the team's losses unveils a dangerous team. Homewood has fallen 21-14 to Spain Park (5-0, hovering outside the Top 10), 38-24 to Hoover (5-0, No. 1 in 6A), 28-0 to Vestavia Hills (4-1, No. 8) and 12-10 to Oak Mountain (3-2). Taken to the brink last week, Bob Jones' hopes of an unbeaten season could hinge on this game. If the host Patriots can prove they're up to beating a Region 6 team, then a run of the regular-season table and possible deep run in the 6A playoffs awaits. Huntsville Times High School Previews - State Playoffs - Week 1
| When: 7 tonight, Oxford Stadium Last week: Bob Jones defeated Butler 56-0. Oxford lost to Tuscaloosa County 28-24. Storyline: Patriots face an Oxford team with loads of talent and speed. It's the fourth straight year for Bob Jones to make the playoffs. After defeating Huffman in the first round in 2005, the Patriots fell to Pelham in 2006 and to Vestavia Hills last season. Quarterback Nick Acosta has been team leader. Linebacker Hunter Hovis, out since the Decatur game Sept. 26, might play this week. For Oxford, quarterback Judd Edwrds has 17,700 yards passing with 13 touchdowns. Favorite receivers are Ty Martin, Antonio Webb and Tevin Fletcher.
