Arthur Brackett Signs with Murray State
After a visit to Murray, Kentucky on the weekend of April 3rd, Arthur "Man" Brackett has decided to continue his football career with the Murray State Racers. Arthur caught the eye of the Ohio Valley Conference school coaches during his junior year and but had never visited the school. The 6'1" wide receiver caught 36 passes his junior year for 439 yards receiving with four touchdowns. In his senior year, Brackett set the school record for total receptions in a season with 52 and ended his high school career with over 1000 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. Arthur also played point guard for the Bob Jones Patriot basketball team providing senior leadership for the Area 16 and Northwest Regional Champions. The Bob Jones Patriots basketball team finished second to Vestavia Hills in the Alabama 6A State Finals. Arthur will join a strong recruiting class for the Racers in the Fall of 2009.  The list includes two players each from Alabama, Kentucky and Florida, and one each from Georgia, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee. Aaron Sherrill will receive an academic scholarship and has committed to play football at Birmingham Southern in the fall. Academically, Aaron maintained a 4.00 GPA while at Bob Jones. Aaron set the Bob Jones High School all-time record for most catches by a receiver in a regular season with 46 receptions for 556 yards and five touchdowns. Aaron averaged over 11 yards per catch for his high school career. He was selected by the Hunstville Times to the 2008 Elite Football Team - 2nd team. In his senior year, Aaron received the Team Captain and Wide Receiver awards, WUMP Player of the Game (Florence) and All-State Insurance 'Good Hands' Award for the Buckhorn game. Aaron also played center field for the BJHS Varsity baseball team up until his senior year.
