The 2005 Season has begun and it began with a BANG!!
Opening Day 2005
The kids are pumped. They are tired of practice...they want the real thing. You could see it in their eyes, the hunger for the game. In the eyes of the coaches you see something different, you see pride. They are so proud of their team.
The weather man called for it to be cold and raining, that wasn't the case. It was chilly but the rain didn't come and in fact it turned out to be a beautiful and sunny day.
Jabob started us out by pitching the 1st 1 1/5 innings and he struck out 2 players. For his 1st appearance on the mound he showed extreme promise and the beginnings of what could be a very dominating pitching staff. The determination and anticipation he had earned him the game ball as he was the Player of The Game.
All of the players, old and new, showed that they were full of surprises. Everyone handled themselves well in the field and at the plate.
One of our big heroes of the game was Joshua Comer who got his 1st hit of the season in grand fashion, GRAND SLAM FASHION that is. Starting opening day with 5 RBI's off of 2 hits makes me hopeful for what the rest of the season holds. Check out the stats page for the rest of the teams results.
The kids played terrific and won with a score of 13-7.
