The purpose of this document is to outline the By-Laws of Billerica Little League as they pertain to Tryouts and the Drafts for players between the ages of 9 and 16 years of age.  A Players age is based on their age on April 30^th of the up-coming season.  The Majors refers to in this documents includes the American Senior Majors, National Senior Majors, American Majors and National Majors.

Player Assignments (ages 9 to 16)

• Players are assigned to either the American or National League based on the month in which they are born
• Players born in an odd numbered months are assigned to the National League
• Players born in an even numbered months are assigned to the American League

TRY OUTS – 9 to 12 Year Old Major League

• All players not assigned to either a National Major or American Major League team should attend tryouts when those tryout are scheduled
  • Players requiring a medical waiver should attend the tryouts and make themselves available to the appropriate Player Agent to receive
    credit for attending tryouts
• Players should ONLY attend the tryout at their appointed time.  The times will be posted on the Billerica Little League web site
  • Tryout times are based on age with 12 year olds going first and 9 year olds going last
  • Players that can not attend their scheduled time MUST contact their Player Agent for a new time slot.
• Tryouts take place at the Vining Elementary School
  • National League tryouts take place on the upper field
  • American League tryouts tale place on the lower field

Tryout – 14 to 16 Year Old Senior Majors League

• All players not assigned to either a National Senior Major or American Senior Major League team should attend tryouts when those tryout are scheduled
  • Players requiring a medical waiver should attend the tryouts and make themselves available to the Senior Major Player Agent to receive credit for attending tryouts
• Players should ONLY attend the tryout at their appointed time.  The times will be posted on the Little League web site
  • Players that can not attend their scheduled time MUST contact their Player Agent for a new time slot.
• Tryouts take place at the Locke Middle School

Tryouts – Junior League (13 year olds)

• All players should attend tryouts
  • Players requiring a medical waiver should attend the tryouts and make themselves available to the Junior Player Agent to receive credit for attending tryouts
• Players should ONLY attend the tryout at their appointed time.  The times will be posted on the Little League web site
  • Players that can not attend their scheduled time MUST contact their Player Agent for a new time slot.
• Tryouts take place at the Locke Middle School

Restrictions for NOT Attending Tryouts

Players that DO NOT attend tryouts or obtain a waiver from the appropriate Player Agent:

• Are NOT ELIGIBLE to be drafted to a Major League team
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for call up at any point to a Major League team during the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for District All Star selection for the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE to return to their previous Minor League team and/or coach
• Players under the age of 12 will be assigned to a Minor League team
• Junior League players are NOT ELIGIBLE for District All Stars only

Failure to Register on-time but attend Tryouts

Players that DO attend tryouts or obtain a waiver BUT DO NOT Register on time

• Are NOT ELIGIBLE to be drafted to a Major League team
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for call up at any point to a Major League team during the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for District All Star selection for the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE to return to their previous Minor League team and/or coach

Failure to Return your Uniform

Players in the Central Majors, American Majors, National Majors, Juniors, Senior Minors and Senior Majors that failed to return regular season or All Star uniforms:

• WILL NOT be allowed to register.  While you may register on-line, the league will not accept the Registration and a Refund will be given, MINUS the cost of the uniform.
• You WILL NOT be considered Registered on-time unless the uniform is returned prior to October 15, 2009

Players that Fail to REGISTER on-time and are to RETURN to a Major League Team

Returning Players that DO NOT Registered on time

• Will be REMOVED from their Major League Team
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for call up at any point to a Major League team during the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for District All Star selection for the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE be eligible to Pitch in the up-coming season
• Will Be Assigned to a lower division team, space permitting

Prior to the start of the season, Players that REFUSE to accept being Drafted to a Major League Team

Over the age of 9

• Will be assigned to a lower Division team
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for call up at any point to a Major League team during the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for District All Star selection for the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE to Pitch in the up-coming season

Players age 9

• Will be assigned to a lower Division team
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for call up at any point to a Major League team during the up-coming season
• Are NOT ELIGIBLE for District All Star selection for the up-coming season
• Will be allowed to Pitch in the up-coming season

Players that move into town after Tryouts or early Registration, provided the League is aware of the new player

Prior to the Major League Draft

• The player will be declared Eligible for a Major League Draft
• Have no restriction placed on them in regards All Star selection

After the Draft

• The Player is available for call up prior to or during the up-coming season as a replacement player
• Have no restriction placed on them in regards All Star selection
