On May 19th Billerica Little League will be holding at the Elks. The Joshua Tree a local U2 tribute band will be playing.  Tickets are $20 each and a table costs $200. t's a good opportunity for parents to get together and enjoy a night away from the field. 12 year olds and Senior league players (ages 13 to 15) are currently being placed on a wait list.  Age is based on the player's age on May 1, 2012.

2012 Billerica Little  League Scholarship forms are available on-line.  In order to apply for a scholarship, you must have played a minimum of 5 years of Billerica Little League, be a resident of Billerica, graduating from high school in 2012 and attending accredited college or prep school.  Applications are due back to the Billerica Little League Scholarship Committee by April 30, 2012.

The next General Meeting for Billerica Little League is scheduled for Monday, March 5, 2012.  The meeting will start at 7:30pm and take place at the Little League Condo behind Sal's Pizza. 

Three Little League Sponsored Manager/Coaches Clinics have been scheduled for Marchand April for 2012 Managers and Coaches.  Details are available under the League Messages section of the web site.

There are still open manager and coaching positions in the Instructional 2, Minor and Senior Minor Divisions. If you are interested, contact the registrar at registration@billericalittleleague.org

Ten Commandments of Little League

  1. I shall not criticize the umpire unless I am prepared to assume their duties
  2. I shall not complain about anyone unless I have labored more hours on the Little League program than they have
  3. I shall not be a grand stand manager
  4. I shall remember that only 9 team members can play at one time
  5. I shall not be critical unless willing to put out the necessary effort to correct my concern
  6. I shall set an example of sportsmanship for my child to follow
  7. I shall remember that all coaches, managers, and league officials are volunteers
  8. I shall remember that all league officers and other personnel must earn a living and cannot spend all their time on Little League business
  9. I shall offer my services to help improve the league whenever possible
  10. I shall encourage my child to follow the Little League pledge

The Billerica School Department is required by law to provide any and all youth organizations that used School resources with the Massachusetts Law regarding Hazing.  A copy of the law is available here.  All organizations are required to follow these laws during any League sponsored activities.  Billerica Little League will abide by this law regardless of the location of a League sponsored event.  If you have any concerns or issues as they pertain to Hazing please contact the League's President at president@billericalittleleague.org.

Proposed changes to the League By-Laws will be voted on during the February 6th General Meeting.  The By-Laws for Billerica Little League are now available under the "Forms and Publications" section of the web site.
