"Big Top captures second consecutive League Championship Title"
Nashua, NH- For the second consecutive year Big Top has knocked off Ayotte's in just 2 games to capture their second League Championship Title. In the first game Big Top scored 12 runs in the first inning and went on to win the game 20-5 in 5 innings. Then in game two Big Top got off to an early 6-0 lead and went on to win 23-5 in 5 innings. John Valdina, Bobby Cooper, Bill Flynn, Buff Barrasso and Moose Kuenzler all homered in the series. Dave Jackson and Johnny Rocket hit a combined 8 for 10 in the series. April Covell, Tommy Ralls and Stacey Jackson's exceptional defense helped keep Ayotte's to just 10 runs in the series. Ralls caught 2 balls Willie Mays style for outs that were hit over 300 feet. Teddy Cooper also had a big day at the plate driving in 4 runs on the day. Meghan and Melanie also had big days at the plate with 3 hits a peice. Scottie Messier continued to stay hot with the bat by going 6 for 7 in the series. Big Joe homered for Ayottes in the second game. Joes homerun was estimated at 380-400 feet. It may have been the longest homerun ever hit at Greely Park. Congratulations to both teams for a fine season. An October 11th team banquet celebration will be held in Lowell Massachusetts.
