Allegany Campers Football: Where are they now?
|
A 2000 Allegany grad is currently serving his country in Baghdad, Iraq after completing his college studies. Stephen Bucy a feisty football player on the 1999 Allegany Football team is now a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Stephen played on the infamous team that upset the Sentinels in the 1999 homecoming game with a 21-14 win in the final minutes of the game when Dan Shanholtz pulled in a TD pass with only 21 seconds to play. The 99’ team missed the Maryland Playoffs that year by a mere .013 points. The pictures displayed here are of Bucy in Iraq and the center picture is of the young Bucy when he played for the Campers. The photo at the far right is 1st Lt. Stephen Bucy painting a liquid lime mixture on the runway May 30 at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq. The lime acts as temporary markings for the shortening of the runway so repairs can be made. The runway was shortened by 3,000 feet. Lieutenant Bucy is assigned to the 447th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. The Big Blue Review would like to thank 1st Lt. Bucy for his pride and dedication and for serving his country during these troubled times. It is young men like Bucy who demonstrate what it means to serve your country during the fight against terrorism |

What am I doing now? I am currently servicing my country in the U.S. Marine Corp. and in my second enlistment in the in the Infantry. I am currently stationed aboard MCB Quantico, VA as a Combat Instructor. My first enlistment I was service aboard Camp Lejeune, NC; where I deployed to Iraq twice, once to Fallujah and once to Ramadi. I love the Marine Corps and plan on making a career out of it. If you have any questions, you can email me back at this email. |
