The Allegany High School Grid Iron Club
Did you ever wander how the Allegany Campers Football team get all those wonderful shirts, nicknacks, sweaters, blankets, teddy bears and all the other neat items that is sold at most athletic events?

It is the GRID IRON Club that supports the activities of the football team and provides for the needs of the team. Little things like providing fruit at the summer practices, pizza after all the games, rings and jackets for the championship teams and much more that many of us will never comprehend.

The Grid Iron Club is one of those "behind the scenes" activities that not many people hear about but, provide more to those players and families than most people will ever realize.

This part of the site is currently under construction, however, will be up and running very soon for all to see exactly what the Grid Iron is all about. So...come back often and buy Grid Iron.

6th ANNUAL TRI-STATE FOOTBALL CAMP COMING IN JULY

TO BE A CHAMPION, YOU HAVE TO TRAIN LIKE A CHAMPION!  TO TRAIN LIKE A CHAMPION, YOU HAVE TO BE TRAINED BY CHAMPIONS!

With those two statements above, the Allegany Campers 2005 State Champion football team begins another year of football with the annual Tri State Area Football Camp.  Although many of the seniors of the 2005 team are not available anymore due to graduation, the 2006 version will now begin to start toward M&T Bank again this season.  Having said that, to remain a competitive team, you have to train your up and coming players to know how to play the game as well as being able to learn the game.  Hence, the Tri-State Football Camp.

The Sixth Annual Tri-State Area Youth Football Camp will be held July 17-18 from 6-8 p.m. and July 19 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Allegany High School in Cumberland.

The camp will be presented by the Allegany High School Maryland State Champion football players and coaching staff under the direction of Head Coach Tom Preaskorn. The camp is open to all youths who will be in grades K-8 during Fall 2006.

The camp offers beginners and introduction to the basic fundamentals of football and offers the experienced player an opportunity to develop and improve skills. There will be competitions and prizes nightly following the instructional stations. All Pee Wee and CAYFL players are encouraged to attend, as well as any child wanting to “try the game” for Possible participation in organized teams. No previous football experience is needed, and there is no weight/size limit.

Preregistration is required and will be held June 10 and 24 from 10 until noon at Allegany in front of the gymnasium. The cost of the camp is $30 ($25 for siblings) and includes a camp shirt and insurance. A discount will be given for team participation in the camp. For more information, call Beth Cross or contact the web master at; jailer@atlanticbb.net

This is a great chance for all those young players to improve their game, their fundamentals and attitude to play the tough game of football.

Good Luck to all participants in this years camp.
